Welcome Also Jasbir, In my view (an investor since 2012) we shall be in a better position to answer that in Nov/Dec with a view on 2018. My reasoning is that we are still using the Legacy Airbus the last of which is due to depart in Late Sept/Oct when we will be using 2 E190 aircraft from Solenta. We will then be increasing the rotations to former schedule with smaller aircraft. I think that once we have viewed the success of that in increased pax and prices we can then take a view on the future. we need to see if the lower prices currently are due to lack of Rotation flexibility, Out and Back or increased success by Government sponsored Air Tanzania. We are however doing very well in Zimbabwe but need to see Tanzania get back to its former glory to make a valid assessment. Failing that, we shall have to add new Countries/Routes to grow at the rate we want.
thanks for the welcome Marksman, i will post some good news next time.
Welcome to the LSE forum, Jasbir. Even-longer-term investors (probably?) here can offer more than a purely speculative prediction about the company’s short-term future. Some of us have been doing so regularly for a couple of years or more! To little avail. However, my personal view is that the share price has been languishing here at virtually its lowest-ever for several weeks so it can surely “only go up’?! More significantly, after a long period of pretty disastrous [mis-]management, this month marks the first year anniversary of the arrival of our new CEO, Nico Bezuidenhout, as you must know. He had 10 years experience with a similar low-cost airline in Africa and, already, there are visible signs of his and his team’s plans coming to fruition, even if it is not yet reflected in the SP. Ruthless trimming and wiser organisation overall should begin to show results anytime soon and certainly before this year is out, IMHO. I hope others will post their opinions as they may well differ from mine.
Hi every one, long term investor waiting for fjet to take off ,any idea guys if it will.
Farruggia1967: Well you seem to be proving to be right with Saturday’s tip. My initial research suggests that you’ve already more than doubled your investment, so congrats. I feel I’ve already missed the boat after more rises both yesterday and this morning but I guess they just confirm your forecast. So I’ve just taken up your tip and made an investment, modestly in keeping with funds presently available. I shall double that when a transfer of more is in place, later today I hope. Thanks again.
The link I omitted from my last post: http://bulawayo24.com/index-id-business-sc-companies-byo-115909.html
At the foot of this latest press release from Bulawayo 24 News, is a reference to fastjet’s recent celebrations quoting several statistics, ending with “an impressive 94 percent on-time performance...” I have no record of that particular percentage but in any case, our relevant home page panel is still lazily showing the 91% of last June. So I”m just wondering where that journal got its info from, or if it’s got the latest stat direct from fastjet or its agency.
We knew about this a month ago, they just have now got the rights to allow passengers on at Harare and Lusaka when the Aircraft lands from Dar, the bonus is we are landing there anyway so no extra costs for landing fees or staffing, just fuller occupancy and if successful the chance to increase frequency. it is also a Fastjet Tanzania Aircraft not a Fastjet Zimbabwe although it lands there.
Fastjet to introduce fifth Zim route... http://www.chronicle.co.zw/fastjet-to-introduce-fifth-zim-route/
Working fine here now.... strange !
HI all it is showing the Current Edition now, so it has been fixed this morning as at Midnight last night the June/July edition was coming up.
It works for me, using Safari on a Mac. Shows the complete Aug/Sep issue. And there is an "Enlarge to full screen" button beneath if you wish to read the test. But tbh, I think I had to alter the image size using a keyboard combo (Cmmd+plus sign. Agree it doesn't seem quite as straightforward as it used to be.
Shows link to Aug 2017 but link is broken....
PJMInvest: You may like to contact the company’s agency direct which is/was behind the website’s design, as I did back in January to “Matt”, beginning “I don't know how involved you are with the regular updating of the fastjet website beyond its initial design? But it is dispiriting to see it so out of date much of the time.....” Their website is https://www.bozboz.co.uk at which you can find all further contact info, including these two direct email addresses: ask@bozboz.co.uk matt@bozboz.co.uk Marksman
It beggars belief that Fastjet have now provided the facility to view the Aug-Sept Places magazine via Facebook, yet after repeated remarks on this BB. by the 13th of August we still have not provided the same link to a dedicated place on the home page of our own website, which still shows Jun-July version. FASTJET GET A GRIP, READ THIS AND TAKE ACTION.
Hi hillwi , with regards to carrying infants only 10% of seat capacity is usually allowed it just gives a slight indication, it is a mystery as to why northbound are very low loads which is impacting on the stunning southbound figures, I would agree with you the VFA JNB VFA is definitely struggling ( time will tell ) Good to see you posting
Fjc, not sure entering any number in the infant category has any significance, as there is no seat occupancy associated with infants. Adult and child, yes, and I agree with the sectors you have quoted as being 90%+ load factors, but the 50%'s you quote are an estimate, which could be high, almost correct or low. The one thing I find strange is that on the HRE-JNB sector, the loads are very high, but on the return sector significantly lower. Do you have any explanation for this, as to why people are flying in high numbers to JNB with fastjet, but returning by some other operator or other means of transport? I also hope the JNB-VFA-JNB sectors pick-up soon, as we do seem to be struggling on those flights at the moment.
Start with 9+9 inf plus 6 and deduct from there plus fares
fjc, that's good, but not seeing the same..... what method are you using ?
Had some time on my hands and did some dummy bookings --- HRE JNB chocca , great news my projections HRE JNB 96% JNB HRE 50% VFA JNB 50% JNB VFA 50% VFA HRE 95% HRE VFA 90% Taking flights upto 19Th
https://twitter.com/skylinksa/status/896301983669334017 ---- I know it's not Fjet news but this is going to be a huge factor affecting our Zim market
They are joining the E190 club in addition to the B777 for international routes -- HRE Bulawayo 3 per day/ ( which makes me wonder will we ever get this route ) Quite a selection of 5freedom DAR Lilongwe HRE/ and they going to pip us at the post with HRE CPT To be announced soon.
The article implies that this is a Fastjet Zimbabwe route, when in fact it is a Fastjet Tanzania route, just allowing passengers to get on in both directions on flights that landed there anyway from Lusaka and Harare to Dar.
