Thanks fatherelmer, That was exactly my point, we must by paying for it to sit on the tarmac at Toulouse. I hope plans are WELL ADVANCED for putting this cost to use to develop our service.
PJM, it's on the ground in southern France - Toulouse I think - and has been for a while under registration F-WNUC
If we are to be using the E190 for this route how and on what routes will we be using the ATR72-600 and how soon will it arrive in DAR. It cannot sit forever unused in Fastjet Livery on the Tarmac somewhere ?
Fjetcrazy, if this is indeed the case that is good news though I was surprised that an E190 was planned for the route as I was under the impression that the runway was too short, especially at MTOW, and that there may also be other infrastructure issues such as ILS systems and availability of Jet A1.
Fjetcrazy, I'm surprised by that given their somewhat checkered history / reputation, though it was one of their routes before (along with a number of international ones such as BUQ-JNB and HRE-GBE and Windhoek). as a signatory to Open Skies, and the success that FJ Zimbabwe seem to be having I was hoping that the CAAZ may be more amenable these days.....
Thanks as ever, Fjetcrazy
Im hearing it WILL happen, just more tests to be done as Kigoma is just within limits for E190, so guess its a wait and see if this is indeed the situation, rather than a deliberate spanner in works
Worse than that, Flyafica
Wolfgang:. https://atcnews.org/2018/02/06/fastjet-pulls-kigoma-flight-bookings-from-system/
Air Zimbabwe? Bulowayo not mentioned here, but it fits this ambition: https://bulawayo24.com/index-id-news-sc-national-byo-127278.html
BA/Comair??
Nico Will go big in SA AND its neither of the two you mentioned re Bulawayo, its closer to home
Who will go big?? My guess is either Ethiopian or Rwandair?
...save FJET is if their Primary stock market listing is swapped to an African exchange so that they actually become an African airline???
He will go big in SA ITS unbelievable who is getting Bulawayo
Fjetcrazy, can't say I’m surprised. Good to see African Open Skies in action.... I guess if frequencies and routes can't increase then FJET will never be an investible proposition....
Fjetcrazy, the first two weeks show as sold out and then thereafter no flights (even sold out ones) appear.
No, all showing sold out
Bulawayo, not coming our way, thats all I can say
Whoops, no I'm wrong - it is just that Kigoma now appears in the dropdown list from Dar - but you still can't see bookable flights. I'm bloody furious. Hope Wolfgang gets on the case, and I may email TCAA myself.
I think the website now offers bookings to/from Kigoma again... So is that now OK?
Hopefully but dont hold your breath
Fjetcrazy I was just going to post that maybe Wolfgang might take up the cudjel and put some public pressure on the powers that be. Hopefully it will get sorted and start around the same time ?
Its very disappointing BUT they are holding us back at every opportunity, with the new and revived ATCL they are greasing their own asses, they will also serve the HRE DAR route when their regional jet arrives which is why we have not been able to increase frequency to 4 x week, they dont want us in TZ , team Magufuli my arrice, Im FUMING TOO Just had chat with Wolfgang hes going to be posting soon
