Wyndrum, thanks for your thoughts which are appreciated...
I think if the company proves it has a profitable model then the £7.5m cash balance should get then valued into the SP so there should be a permanent lift there. However one update, assuming its profitable, won't be enough on its own (unless its a gangbusters update, which I don't think it will be), I think there is every chance of a 1.75- 2.p move in and around the update.
Assuming all is ok and EVE are and continuing to move forwards then 4p looks to be a target over 12-18 months I guess?
How long do you hold sharer? well that's a very individual thing I guess. I will share some thoughts on this fwiw.
I don't see any difference in the terms Investor or trader, at some stage you buy a share and then you sell it. What difference does it make if you sell it after a day or 10 years? What length of time when holding a share do you stop being a trader and become an investor? I think when you look at it like this it becomes difficult to draw any line or distinction between these terms. However psychologically, it seems to matter to people quite a lot. Investor good, (virtuous, not greedy, calm, etc) Trader bad,( shark, gambler, makes money at others expense, manipulative etc).
But to me the most important thing is time. Time is the one thing we have that is limited and we can't get back. Therefore in terms of holding a stock, I think it is essential to decide what profit you want to make over what timescale. That I think, should be the criteria that people apply when deciding to buy . By having a plan it simplifies the thought process and makes decision making in the future easier. (its too easy and more importantly, lazy, when a stock goes down to decide to keep holding because in a year or 2 it will "probably" go up again.
Time, that's the thing, its all about time.
The poor SP performance sadly began long before covid; certainly, if not a profit now, when the lockdown appears to have benefitted sales, when? I do expect a spike in sp approaching the RNS but will it stick. Will even good sales (and hopefully profit) figures mean a truly permanent lift. What do you think Wyndrum? I usually hold rather than trying to trade but I'm not sure this time. Each to their own of course.
If Eve have been running at approx. breakeven (100k loss per month) then presumably on sales above this figure apart from cost of production, profits must fall to bottom line. It would be nice to know what the margin was? A I have said before its not a cheap retail figure so it should be quite healthy. Certainly EVE need to be showing a real, demonstrable, no caveat, profit with this update I think. I can't see the market accepting any more treading of water.
