Roger65 “Just no idea where this is heading but I’m 99% certain a full sale is out the window. The notion of strengthening one’s negotiation position 10 months into an FSP suggests we’re nowhere near the point of finalising a deal.“
I must admit before the 2 latest RNS were released I thought the chances of a FSP were greater than 90%. Now the chances of a FSP by a single company/entity look more like 50/50, the main reason being EUA has more confirmed assets in the ground and are taking on another director now. This director is liaising with a Japanese consortium companies like Toyota, Nissan, Honda etc that are end users of the resources that EUA has in the ground, but they are not mining experts.
EUA are experts in mining exploration and their focus is to discover in-ground assets and quantify them. There are several large mining companies that are experts in digging and processing PGMs. IMO the Japanese consortium aren’t planning on buying the in-ground PGMs and they are attempting to secure a reliable supply of the mined product rather than doing the mining themselves.
IMO it still makes sense for a big miner (or miners) to buy out EUA or buy the right to mine in a specific area. I’m thinking miners as there is so much to mine so any single miner may struggle to afford what the in-ground assets are currently worth and put in the infrastructure to remove and process these assets quickly enough to meet the demand from the end users. Maybe not the whole of EUA will be sold and they will act as a middleman in the supply chain between any big miner(s) who buys into the physical mine and the end users who require access to PGMs. Remember that Dmitry has previously mentioned dividends in previous interviews and set-up Lybrion which could be used in the PGM supply chain, which suggests that he wasn’t planning on a full buyout.
I still believe that some EUA assets will be sold as CITIC and UBS are still working on a no sale, no fee basis and EUA have engaged DLA Piper. The FSB process seems to have taken a relatively long time, perhaps because a variety of different buying scenarios have been discussed and perhaps different miners have been discussing which areas they want access to and several might be forming consortiums to decide which one is mining, who is processing etc.
IMO the last 2 RNS have increased the future value of EUA but it hasn’t been reflected in the current purchase price. I suppose this could be because lots of people thought a FSP was “in the bag” and we were going to walk away with £1 or more per share but the latest news has introduced some uncertainty about the future direction of EUA. I’m personally very positive with EUA in the long-term as they have a strong team of directors who are experts in their fields and have invested a significant amount of time and money developing EUA over the past couple of decades. I’m happy to continue to hold EUA and have faith that the directors will secure the best deal...
Great post mjs,
If people are not prepared to accept responsibility for their actions they should leave their money in the bank and be grateful for the 0.0075% interest!
'The time frame is irrelevant and it not a dig. Many people here fail to understand that some purchased in the 30s and maybe 40s looking for a quick flip.'
Using your FTSE logic,
You could have bought Easyjet last year before the pandemic and lost tons of money and still be sitting at a heavy loss now.
The FTSE is going to fly regardless because it's the recovery trade for 2021, it had a terrible 2020 so the only way is up.
EUA is 110% up in the past year, I'm sure you are smart to realise shares don't go up in a straight line, if someone bought in at the 30-40p range, that is the risk they decided to take at that moment hoping for a quick result in the FSP.
You could have also taken another risk, for example, if you bought Easyjet in Feb 2020 despite the risk of COVID-19 lockdowns spreading to other countries including our own.
The stock market is risk, you only gain the reward by taking the risk, it's up to an individual to judge that risk.
I don't get this mentality of oh some people got spiked, others bought cheap, it's the stock market, when you make profit, it's because someone has bought in higher then you did previously, are we really going to babysit people's ability to make the correct investment decisions in 2021.
Honestly, it's a joke.
Good riddance.
You know your winning when the Derampers like Billions have to filter !
lol.
Go BOD !!!
In most cases of a company being taken over, shareholders only find out when a binding offer is accepted by the BOD. In most cases of a normal company sale, the shareholders are completely clueless for months and even years. I can't see why anyone thinks we sitting in the dark during an FSP. The whole reason why the SP is at 27p and not 5p is because we have information of a potential sale. So no, we aren't clueless as shareholders. The company is informing us every time they increase the value of their assets and also informing us that a sale is still being considered.
The time frame is irrelevant and it not a dig. Many people here fail to understand that some purchased in the 30s and maybe 40s looking for a quick flip.
Inevitably this will cause some anxiety as roger is alluding to.
7.2p when suspended Feb 2020
Suspended for 5 months, price is holding high 20s now yet billions is bashing it over an 18% drop in 6 months.
Go lie down in a darkened room billions & give yourself a shake.
We have almost doubled in the last 12 months. But don't tell 'Billious' because
he is not interested in any positive FACTS.
Let's have a proper comparison billions. EUA has easily beaten the FTSE return over the last 12 months.
18% down in 6 months..
How much up in 12months? :-)
Roger, it's a fair point. Eua is down 18% in 6 months. FTSE 100 is up 15%, FTSE 250 up 22%.
But obviously the value here is the sale that should have landed by now. It's an opportunity cost worth taking.
I am extremely comfortable with my holding .
wet blankets
It is the minority view on here, but it does seem the chances of a full co sale are diminishing. Mining easily offers shareholders the best value long term.
But will mean the bubble of overnight millionaire dreamers will be popped..
The ones who are in the dark are the people in the NN sales team that cover Japan. They may be wondering if they need to revisit their sales forecasts!
".... this is becoming a very uncomfortable ride as a share holder ...."
I do not share that sentiment and am holding for the conclusion. Sorry to hear you are uncomfortable. Remind yourself why you invested in the first place. EUA's resource base and connections has grown dramatically in the last twelve months. IMO, the pieces are falling in place and the BOD do know what they are doing to 'maximise shareholder value'.
If I was uncomfortable with a stock I own, and the fundamentals have changed for the worse, I would sell. Simple as. I would certainly not bleat about that on a BB as it was my decision to invest my money in this stock - no-one else's.
Anyway, I wish you well whatever you decide to do. Don't forget old Warren's quote - "The stock market is a tool to transfer wealth from the impatient to the patient.'
GLA.
yeah because its very likely wrong...EUA are demonstrating to any would be buyers that they have contingencies in place, all whilst expanding its licences etc. Its textbook. FSP's for this scale of asset do not get completed in 6-10 months - this could be a year or 18 months potentially. I personally think it might be fairly soon as everything is pointing to it being before end of this month but I would not care a jot if it went a full year.
Roger move on you've sold out and will be kicking yourself in a few months time.
I floated this theme yesterday and was belittled for it. I hope you're looking forward to some condescending replies
We’re all in the dark and the market doesn’t like it, hence yet again no movement in the sp . After several RNSs that have taken everyone by surprise how can any investor form a view of which direction EUA is headed. AIM is enough of a casino as it is but with ongoing secrecy and shocks from the BOD this is becoming a very uncomfortable ride as a share holder - speaking personally that is. If only we could have one RNS that states what the BOD are now aiming for, rather than leaving us with more questions than answers, then I, for one, would be massively grateful.
Just no idea where this is heading but I’m 99% certain a full sale is out the window. The notion of strengthening one’s negotiation position 10 months into an FSP suggests we’re nowhere near the point of finalising a deal. If it was going to happen this kind of manoeuvres would be long past.
