That was a potential JV, james did the due diligence at the time. But that doesn't mean that he was not taken on board for his EPC experience, in interview it was mentioned by Dmitry i believe, that some people prefer Sinosteel and others have different preferences.
James would be the ideal candidate to help with other preferences as he'll have many contacts.

Chinese wall?
"James has an engineering background and has also held senior positions at a number of EPC organisations"
GLA
Something you will note, is this mans EPC experience -
"JAMES NIEUWENHUYS
Non-executive Director
James has held senior positions including Chief Operating Officer at Polyus Gold, Russias largest gold miner, and is currently Chief Executive Officer at South African Lesego Platinum Mining Limited. James has an engineering background and has also held senior positions at a number of EPC organisations."
Could a different/revised EPC option be bundled into a sale?. That's a question i've been asking myself since i saw the new MT production target.

Wkworld - maybe they have their big hairy paw on the flanks license !
Dore123, Neither has UBER, but it currently sits at a valuation of $70 Billion.
Part of any buyers dues diligence will be assessing how feasible their plans are to reach the mentioned production targets, that's a given.

Thanks brookkers, it was just something that came to mind this morning. I doubt NN had been buying pre suspension as they would have needed to declare if over 3 percent but seems strange to me for them not to Hoover up the shares while they had the chance seems like a missed opportunity when we are right on their doorstep. Although we have been around for a long time maybe they didnt anticipate the sudden rise in price and the for sale sign.
You can work it out on the projected figures Dore. There is a EPC contract in place, and part of that contract is a guaranteed production output, it's all in RNS.
They have also just dropped new projected production targets into the Annual Report and Accounts RNS.
New suggesting that they've altered mining plans.

Morning Wkworld
It's an interesting thought - but if NN or anyone else was hoovering up shares pre-suspension they would have had to declare their interest if they reached 3% at which point you would think the price could have rocketed.
It will be interesting to see what positions >1% are declared in the next few days ...
That's not true. For a BB that knows the power of MMs and how MMs can push the price down, I'm surprised at the optimism that MMs won't try to push the price down when we return to trading. Additionally, no single bidder needs to buy 30% in a day, and no one has. They'll just match their demand with the supply available each day and keep the price steady. No one knows if people are gonna hold or sell, given how long we have been under suspension.
I do hope that the SP will soar if we return to trading, but there are ways we can get screwed over and it is important to be aware.
Jayquethedog, bit tetchy this morning mate, chill. I wouldn’t think anyone on here would call you an imbecile

Just a quick thought I wanted to share to see what people think. When the share price was a lot lower than is was when it was closed most of us saw the amount of resources the company had and so we saw the value and brought in. As we are on NN doorstep couldn't they have just done a hostile takeover back then and picked us up on the cheap?. I know they cannot do that now but seems they dropped the ball here missing this right under their noses?. It's just something that came to mind and got no one else to talk to about it since my family don't care!. Thanks for listening.
Ebitda is the language they speak dore, it's even used in the kommersant article.
GLA
WK target production, so projection is - "Target production: 64koz at full capacity"
MT target production is - "Target production: 1,000koz at full capacity"
Ebitda dear watson.

It won’t be low on opening and if they do they need 30% it’ll make the sp rocket
Dana went for around 1.7 billion pounds, so for us that's 63p per share ;)
I'll take it too :P
Nice, I'll take £18 per share ;-)
They can't take us out on hostile when we're suspended, yes. But IMHO a sale process was run because they felt they didn't have the deep pockets to develop MT on their own, and would need someone to come in and develop it. A bit like the Greatland-Newcrest joint venture in Havieron.
My biggest worry is getting un-suspended while the FSP is ongoing, since any bidders that might want to go hostile would just gobble up the shares whilst it's still relatively low upon opening.
Also we are not desperate to sell if they get low balled the well just continue on ourselves. I don’t think it would of come this far of low offers we’re being tabled. Have to remember the bod have a lot of skin in this too they’ll want good money just like us
Thing is tricky how can they take us out on a hostile if we’re suspended. If we hadn’t been suspended then I can imagine the Mcap would be much higher now. So in my view it’s irrelevant
Dana didn't sell for 35 pounds per share, but 18. I don't know where you're getting that information from but it is categorically false.
Also, they weren't suspended all the way throughout the sale process.
I'd be happy with that ;-)
