Eco tweeted last night interesting presentation note photo on slide deciding drilling 2020 program methinks the gap between Peru and end of year going to be filled. Apache recently farmed out to Total as we know from Tullow IR they can move the drilling forward. CPR soon.
You're right, my bad.
IJWT,
I think that’s actually Payara mate
Hi extrader
If you check the big grey blob in the middle of the graph and the legend at the bottom, unless I'm mistaken its Hammerhead.....
Hi IJWT,
I’ve just reread MrScar’s link and don't see any ref to predicted Hammerhead Production....anotherarticle, perhaps ?
TIA and ATB
Mrscar
Interesting article, amazing the level of Hammerhead production predicted from those rubbish Teryiary fields really that Exxon has flow tested.
Yup, China and India still burning coal as if there's no tomorrow and Germany still getting 40% of their energy needs from brown lignite the dirtiest coal of all.
Meanwhile back in blighty we are the good guys charging industry and consumers a fortune for going "green." Green being the appropriate word.

Incidentally, on that Guyana article and the reference to Jethro and Tullow. The author might just be well informed :)

Extrader; You know what they say. Naughty NOX and darling SOX.
Hey 2050 lots of natural gas and yes they might even be able to breath in Northern China.
Oh....and that'll be still 30-35% of a far higher overall energy consumption level, in all probability.
My source was The Economist, but I can't locate atm. For anyone interested, a Chinese source says that they expect to be at 35 %, not 30% as I suggested, COAL usage in 2050....https://www.smart-energy.com/industry-sectors/smart-energy/coal-use-in-china-to-decline-by-39-by-2050-report/

Hi oogleflugal,
I can't see a world voluntarily giving up the benefits of hydrocarbons without a fight.
When you consider (per The Economist) that China currently gets 60% of its energy from COAL and is still projected to be getting 30% from COAL in 2050, it's hard to see us giving up on an energy source that's more intensive and more flexible in its range of applications.
There's a reason (well, lots actually) why Greta and co make their pitch in the First World (un PC term) and not in the Second or Third, where they'd (rightly, in my view) be given very short shrift : try telling somebody on 1/20th or 1/50th of your living standard that they should stay there 'for the common good' …..

Good point extrader I was wondering which res he had read from Tullow recently. There some other very good articles in that same source. Namely the predicament of nearly all oil majors spending way beyond their means in order to prop up the divi dream. BP 50 billion debt, Shell and Total 22 billion each! Also ex founder of TLW has set up an American backed TLW style operation with eyes on Africa interestingly. What with all this and the Saudis very sensibly monetising their oilfields and the rush from China to undercut Americas Telsa operation (the next trade war) wonder where oil has to go. Ireland has joined France, New Zealand and a few other countries in stopping any further exploration licenses. American Shale is back I crisis so I don't know how the Uk government think there is any future in it. So where does this leave Guyana in particular. Interesting comments from Aidan Heavey (ex TLW). He seems confident there is still 40 years left in the oil industry. Obviously pressure on oil prices is unlikely to ease, but at the same time affordable production becomes ever more key to success apart from drilling in the right place. A lot of confusion and guesswork ahead!
Hi Mr Scar,
Thanks for this, esp. re local political flavour. Hope the journalist is more up to speed there than on the geology, where he rather unfortunately refers to Tullow's (overtaken by events ;-<) expectations re Jethro etc....

Thanks; Interesting.
