Nothing wrong with the photos
All fake news !!
Well you haven't made a great 1st impression on the board....
First impressions matter.
Period.
Not sure why the negative remarks regarding sub standard photos.
They can be updated easily moving forward.
Can't think of any App where everything is perfect from the start.
This is the start of something massive imho and the App will evolve and only get better.
Yes some of the photos can be better, I'm sure the App will be completely different in 12/18 months form where it is today.
Much rather have a Dish half full than half empty
Very very small percentage of photos are not up to par. Even so I would much rather have potential earnings with the restaurant on the app and website and update photos asap than to have zero earning potential waiting until higher res photos are uploaded before displaying restaurant.
Monty
Photographs definitely should checked prior to uploading , Bigdish are supposed to be promoting quality food at discount prices !
but most pictures I have seen are pretty good .
There can be no argument, pictures should be subjected to a quality check. There is a need for a food platform to ensure it's presentation is as perfect as possible. It may be upsetting to some but this clearly demonstrates a lack of professionalism.
You would not submit a picture of a car you have for sale covered in mud. It is simply unbelievable.
Wow, well then Squid, all I can say is fortunately you are not making the decisions.
So you suggest Calamari that BigDish should postpone adding a restaurant to their platform until the restaurant adds photos that are up to the standard rather than add them, then sort the photos at the soonest opportunity?
The Groundhog Day Morons just can’t help themselves on this BB, but hey you do make me laugh Calamari .... £100 charge for a drink hahaha what a tool.
And ART, we want as many restaurants added to the app as possible, we don’t want TM’s taking pics of food. “Could you cook me up 3 or 4 of your best dishes while I wait so I take photos please?” It’s a no brainer that it should fall on the restaurant to promote their business to the public to gain custom, that’s why they sign up to BigDish in the first place, therefore it’s down to them to take photos of their food. The quality in those pics you posted earlier are terrible, one lamb shank looks like a turd it’s so bad so yes there needs some new photos uploaded from the restaurant for sure. And another thing that is for sure, is when this error is fixed, you and the other lemons in here will find something else to spend their entire day winging and whining about.
Great to see Birmingham on the app today, early progress. Maybe another location to look forward to in the morning.
Someone who had a look at the bigdish website/offerings for the first time today. A potential customer.
Someone who isn't a shareholder with rose tinted glasses, and with a pipe feeding me hot air from the directors up my A-Hole
Someone who ran a mile because of a shoddy website with ZERO clarity on the price of a meal.
Stop being a plonker. Either pass on what I said to the CTO, or don't.
The website is driving people away. It's not enticing people. Simple as that.
I couldn't care less if this company survives or goes belly up.
Somehow, I get the feeling you're a bit more attached. That's not any issue of mine.
Come on Dish, lets get adding.....................................................................................................
Go, Go, Go...................

Who is your friend of a friend - Aidan, or perhaps one of the other directors of Big Dish. There's no need to be silly or to bring eatigo into it.
On thinking about it it is much easier for the restaurant staff to take the photos than the TM's. What Big Dish need to do is monitor these photos and to make sure that they are of a certain standard to attract customers and not put them off. Food is a delicate business. A blurred picture of a dish or a restaurant is as bad as having food served on a dirty plate. Big Dish cannot go around and inspect the plates that the food is served on but they can inspect the photos that are submitted and make sure that they are all of a certain quality.
I can see that. The TM isn't going to hang around for hours waiting for a certain dish to be prepared so he/she can get a photo of it on a plate nor can they guarantee to turn up when the restaurant is empty and looking smart ready for service. And it may be raining or whatever on the day they turn up so outside shots may not be possible.
However it is up to Big Dish to monitor the photos that they put on the App. That is their initial window and they need to be of a certain standard. That is entirely the job and responsibility of Big Dish.
The Brighton photos are excellent and will attract customers while the Birmingham photos added today are a huge deterrent. Simples.
"it's up to the restaurants to be responsible for what they put on bigdish platform" and it's up to Big Dish to make sure that the photos are good enough and suitable for the Big Dish platform. That is what they are not doing and they should be.
It's no good Big Dish saying the photos are down to the restaurant and not doing something about it. The restaurants have a life and income without Big Dish but Big Dish do not have any income without their partner restaurants. Big Dish management needs to make sure the photos are to a standard, and nice and clear or request for them to be resubmitted. This is for the benefit of both the restaurant and Big Dish. Presentation is very important in the restaurant industry and counts a long way to whether diners will book again or not.
Yes I appreciate if the photo is of a specific dish then the TM may not have a chance to get a photo and this is why they may have to be taken by the restaurant staff but the TM's can at least get shots of the outside and inside and maybe give advice of which photos would be suitable for the App/website.
I checked with a friend of a friend who does have contact with eatigo and they confirmed that restaurants are responsible for the pics that are put on eatigo app...it's exactly what I thought..it's ridiculous that some here are expecting territory managers to take the photos...it's up to the restaurants to be responsible for what they put on bigdish platform
The photos seem to be absolutely fine on the Brighton restaurants and I must admit it is not something I have noticed before.
Maybe the brummies are just a bit ***** and in******* of using a camera phone competently.
If you go on the App and look you will see that a lot of the restaurants include a full copy of the menu. This is linked where it says "See full menu". This also gives the availability and prices of the drinks.
Johnny funerals is absolutely right the quality of the posts on this board is descended into farce.. now we have someone complaining that the price of the drinks is not given. seriously ?
The issue is that you HAVE.TO BUY A DRINK, to avail of the discounted food price.
Without stating the price list for the drinks, they run foul.
The drinks can be any price, that's not an issue. Not displaying the price is of drinks is, when they are an essential part of the offer.
It's as simple as that.
Drinks have never been included in the discounts and that is the same with the other Apps that do the same.
Quote from the eatigo App: "Discounts only apply to regular rates. Drinks are NOT included in the discount."
Also from Discoeats: "Discounts only apply on the regular menu, not on drinks, business lunch specials or pick-up).
However I do remember one poster a while ago who booked a table through the Big Dish App and said that his party had also been given full discounts off the drinks.
Between the bad photos and the illegal promotional material, can anyone say why I should sign up and give all my personal data which the app tricks and gathers, to this apparent bunch of cowboys?
I sure as hell wouldn't do it for a few quid of a meal somewhere.
Today was my first time looking at the offerings by the way. This is my instant feedback.
People don't stand for this nonsense anymore.
Art, I took a look at some pics you posted. You were right. Awful **** altogether. Not a hope would I sign up for food on that basis.
What I did notice was something sinister, which raised doubts about the whole legality of the offer and could get the restaurants/big dosh into trouble.
A small caveat which says a beverage MUST be purchased to avail of the half price meals. (Those meal prices are highlighted) alas, no prices for these beverages anywhere to be seen.
Tut tut tut.
