Can’t find a date for when Priti Patel reviews but you’d expect today or tomorrow
I’d presume she will go with court & extradition agreement so that news might send a short term wobble to the SP
Great post, thanks.
To summarize my interpretation of the implications for DARK of what I have read on this board regarding the Lynch affair.
Lynch sponsored DARK prior to IPO and was part of the management, but that since IPO he and his associates have just been shareholders with no say on DARK’s Board. There are potentially three matters in which the Lynch affair could affect the SP or even the future of DARK.
Firstly DARK’s reputation. The reputation and the liability issue (see below) below, spooked the market at IPO causing the IPO price to be set low and will continue to spook the marker as the matter progresses. Customers and potential customers, and even Microsoft, could walk away. It is a serious aspect with short to long term implications.
Secondly Lynch and associates may have to sell their shareholding to raise cash. A short term, but no long term, implication for the SP.
Finally there is a potential (criminal?) liability for DARK and its directors. Companies have a duty of care to ensure that they are not financed with launded/dirty money. So if Lynch is found guilty as charged and if it can be shown that DARK was financed prior to IPO with money that was not clean……….. Potentially extremely serious. The lawyers would have a field day.
But DARK is otherwise an excellent company……
Sounds horrible, What can happen if they say DARK was funded by criminal money?
Mike Lynch is a shareholder now however his business provided seed funding for Dark initially so if convicted in USA it there is a risk that Dark is tainted as being funded from the proceeds of crime!
Personally I think Mike is innocent and the UK should stand firm and support Mike.
Until Darktrace gets into the FTSE100 or 250 there will be a relatively small number of trades per day, so volatility will stay with us until then and possibly for a short time after.
It's very difficult with this share to try and estimate a bottom. It's clear the long term value is there, but these are serious swings compared to many shares. It's volatile for sure! Any thoughts anyone?
kinda binary here: if no extradiction it should resume the uptrend, if extradiction possible a momentary dip (in this case I would buy more).
not sure i want to wait tho, price already dropped to 700 .....
I ant to be clear, any dip is chance to buy , we know Lynch can create momentary FUD but not going to impact the underlying business
Problem is short term reaction. nobody wants to see a -20/30% dip , even if temporary
Question: IF Lynch does go to jail in the US, what does this change with Darktrace?
IMO very little changes, this is an opportunity for longer term investors bla bla but is there a legitimate reason for be worried about the long term success of the business?
dropping under 720 now
Always ready to add as fundamentals the same & forecast up on ARR - will set buys 650 & 600
Or even 700 or 660 or even 620, in fact if Mike goes for a spell across the pond it may start with a 5 or who knows!!!!
I too offloaded for the short term. After doubling I've slowing released all my shares as I fear this week could be tricky for the SP.
However, this poses profit taking for some, it also potentially is a great opportunity to buy back at a lower price if there is a drop.
I will be in for the long term, GL to all who have a stake in this.
I'm also holding strong on this one whilst hiding under the desk, just incase it drops like a stone on my head ??????????
They love playing with this don't they
Hmmm, second time I've unloaded everything on this share (at 750) after a decent profit. If it goes below 660 will start looking to buy my holding back. I'm no trader by any stretch, but I'm determined not to take any losses on this one.
too risky IMHO to be fully invested with this lingering threat , especially on a double top after a +120% in a few weeks.
i dont want to feel again like during that awful dip from 780 to under 600 in a few trading hours, so i unloaded half of my shares
is not on the BOD,you cant get "rid" of him,hes a shareholder like us all
