The world needs a reality check anyway, too much consumerism etc. I do feel for the next generation, but as an optimist ( believe it or not ) I have faith that change is needed, and it will be made. It wasn’t easy for those before us either, with hideous wars etc. Humans are complicated and we have much to learn. However from a shallow investment point of view I do think the predictions of a strong oil price will happen. There is just to many economic variables in place. Could be a great year or seven for COPL.
hopingforbags " Especially that freedom to just go , sod it fancy a couple of weeks in " That freedom was only obtained from generations of people who gave there lives so we could have a better life, something easily forgot by youth and the affluence of this generation. Plenty of panic spread by governments and press, it's really only science that have come to our aid. Nobody was predicting we would have our first vaccines so quick, and they will be improved. IMO
Hardly panic over, the latest on the South African version says our current vaccines no good
and one of the 86 x less effective , India who have for their condensed high population had
relatively low rates, now reporting a virulent spreading super strain of their own
We are blessed in this country that we have our glorious NHS and infectious disease protocols
and vaccination programs from an early age ,so agree for us the scenarios is looking a lot better
as the weeks roll on
Most of the rest of the world not so blessed, so as wookie said it will be a long time before we
can get rid of that annoying phrase ""The new normal"" and getting back to some semblance
of the real normal
Especially that freedom to just go , sod it fancy a couple of weeks in ...........
Being one in extra time heading for , I will not see much of it, just so sad that the following
generations will loose out on so much we took for granted and at some point the payback
that will come in direct and indirect taxes to balance the National debt in the future
as you said , learn to live with it, we will see, many have not bothered during the height of
the pandemic, can't see them changing attitude ever, so pockets will keep springing up,
so much for the worlds leading virologist who said , he thought looking at early data rona
would be like 1918 and quickly mutate it's way to our safety and be gone lol
hopingforbags Like i said , we will learn how to live with this. The panic is over now to let science do it's thing and get the human race to comply with restrictions. Life will go on and COPL will come back strong. ;-)
Sadly Wookie is right , a world in flux and booster vaccinations it would appear
but did post that on twitter last year early doors , think it was only May?
Some Icelandic laboratory reported they had already identified a staggering 40k
virus mutations and one in particular the spread of which they traced to a European
football game held in the North West of England lol
:))
comeonvog
just reporting the news as found good or bad as always
wookiemonster But we will learn how to live with it that is more my point . High fuel costs will only add to the misery of third/second world economy's, POO at 60's is more workable to all. To low and no profit from producing country's to spend , to high , well we know what happens then. IMO
Comeonvog. Out of the pandemic? Aim afraid not, most medical experts or virologists predict 10 years plus.. recent mutations and just looking what’s going on will tell you we are far far far away from getting this under control sadly. Mass population, and confined living means even after covid there will be another pandemic. It’s a certain I’m afraid. Not being glum but it’s simply a fact. Covid isn’t going anywhere, it’s all very well vaccinating first world countries, but unless everyone gets the vaccine it’ll just mutate and then invalidate past vaccines anyway.. I think the world is in for a bit of shock, and see oil prices rising a lot in the next few years. $100+ easy.
hopingforbags Personally i would not like to see POO over $70, last thing the world needs right now as we hopefully come out of this pandemic . Think we will be fine here with high 60's .
Cam
every chance that $70 will be in play on relist
as posted before the guy's who a few year back predicted the last super cycle and where
tipping a high around $200 a barrel, called it again 2-3 months ago
Hope they are right , last time it peaked at WTI/Brent $163/$165 and still rising when which
ever world event hit and it crashed to sub $20
Bad news for those with gas guzzling cars , great for us 2 x 70 is only $140 lol
:))
Over $70pb on relist would be perfect. 6 ish weeks to get there & consolidate. Looks likely if it can break a new high.
