LTHCine, the advertising revenue is made from the advertising credits that get shown immediately prior to the showing of any film. Local businesses and new film trailers. I never realised it was a couple of hundred million and it is one that is often overlooked. Given the amount of films being rolled over into this year the advertising revenue should be good.
I had the takeover feeling too Ian. Just too many stars lining up for us to be a coincidence.... Either Jangho takeover with them aiming to get chinese foothold in USA n UK with expansion into China/Asia. Or Disney.....
£3:80 is a bit ambitious, thou I wouldn’t say no to it
Seeing how Cineworld value is around a billion. AMC around 4 billion. AMC has higher debt levels and is only slightly bigger. Means Cineworld is far more attractive for a takeover. The incentive bonus scheme seems aimed at setting out the takeover figure of £3.80 a share. To give Mooky the value he sees the company at. Plus companies out there seeing the value offered. I feel something will happen in the next few months. Time will tell. But coming out of lockdown will spur something to happen. IMO
What makes you think a takeover is looming ?
Ianharding - cine also make a couple hundred million per year in advertising revenue through one of its subsidiaries, very easy to overlook :P i saw it because i was sad enough to read about 100 pages of the annual report.
Rolls Royce makes money when planes fly. Lack of flights means RR SP will stay grounded as well. Cineworld will make money when the doors open. Then the monthly membership brings in money as well as through the door income.
I feel there is a takeover attempt going on. With Mooky fighting this off. The next few months will be interesting. IMO
An open business is obviously better than a closed business and if that doesn’t reflect in then sp when the doors open for business then the MM’s need to be slapped silly with a frozen salmon!
We certainly need some upward movement next week Bonkers, it was rising faster when no opening was on the horizon but now with 10 days to go it's gone into reverse.
Rolls royce are not flying either , cinemas will be open , I'm hoping that makes a difference reppyrr , fingers crossed for all our sakes
RR hardly booming, look at Superdry and Ted Baker today now that's a boom.
DYOR
Will do latpulldown , right back to you and any other LTH , enjoy your last quieter weekend of the summer
so sad all other UK stocks are up . FTSE past 7000. CINE stock still dragging on its feet. Really this share is the black sheep in uk stock market right now.
RR shares are booming right now. USA cinemas is open. this share should be at least over 100p.
I feel your frustration Bonkers but such are markets that when it gets back to £1.00 and highre all will be forgotten. Far better prospects for swift generation of cash and profits should certainly than airlines with a small number of limited "green countries" and covid tests required. easyjet - up 5% today.
Game of frustration played this week to shake out impatient traders and the weak and imho to transfer their stock to willing recipients.
Enjoy the weekend.
Hi antmoss , your correct mate I'm also happy with my current profit, I was talking about the last week in general rather then a overview of the stock in general, I'm hoping bladey is spot on and that a large order is being filled , who knows.
Next week could be the turn , it's real news , cine are open end of the week and the mood of the nation should be significantly lifted , time will tell of course but a nice rise is on order here and my gut feeling next week will be the start , maybe from Tuesday onwards providing p.m speaks Monday night
I still believe we're having an order filled... i'm expecting a TR1 soon.. Only this supports price stagnation at this point in time!
Bonkers I agree with you on the poor performance but I suppose if you look at where we have come from and most (not all unfortunately) long term holders are still in profit.
I too can't wait to enjoy indoor meals, drinks and yes even cinemas lol
IMO Cine will prosper as it ain't going no-where......and I believe once open footfall will be more than we all think.
Just waiting for Mooky to pull his trick out of the hat all be it late.
Have a good weekend and here's to a better week next week.
Don't really want too talk about cine stock this week , it's been poor and frustrating , however after a poor week it brings a week closer i always thought was significant for cine , providing the prime minister does what he normally does its hoped that he will address the nation Monday night for a weeks notice on the next steps of the roadmap .
These are ....
Under step three, groups of up to 30 will be allowed outdoors, and the Rule of Six will be in place indoors, subject to review.
Step three will also see the return of:
Indoor seating in pubs and restaurantsIndoor.entertainment venues like cinemas and theatresDomestic overnight staysOrganised indoor adult sportWeddings and other “significant life events” with 30 peopleRemaining outdoor entertainment, such as performancesRemaining accommodation.
This really should lift the mood of the nation more then any other step , it means we can legally plan nights out with friends , eat at restaurants, go to the cinema stay away.
And I for one can't wait to do all the above and much more
