I saw tractors and trailers ..
The waft , well, no comment.
"Its time to put on make-up"
:-)
I’ve watched over a 1000 films since 1988, still got all my tickets, so probably yea. You will probably funvester, that it’s you on here, always kicking off with people. Just out of interest what film was you watching, when England vs Scotland was playing ?
You clearly know everything then, I bow to your superiority.
You obviously don’t, because you keep rambling on about it. I’ve already said it’s normal to show 2-3- or 4 blockbuster trailers. I also noticed 2 weeks ago at showcase cinema, they had swapped it around, so you get the film trailers 1st for some reason, which I thought was odd.
I know very well what is and what is not "normal" to see as set of trailers before films.
Been an unlimited card holder for number of years and at times go several times per week.
Funvester it’s normal to have 2-3 blockbuster trailers at the beginning of a film. If you watched a horror, they usually show all horror trailers.
Cruis1, excellent info about studios paying to the theaters for the trailers. But you can see that you got criticized despite finding the information that they were lazy to research. Like you, even I don't see what is so much significant about playing trailers of 4 mega movies before a film!
What is significant is your info about studios paying to theaters. Thanks again for finding that info! ATB
However, thanks for the link to article on the subject.
I fully understand a number of trailers most times play before the film ffs.
Not often you get 4 of the expected MEGA movies all trailered before film though.
It's not trailers or how many, it is THE movies trailered my point.
You deliberately being obtuse?
For you funvester

It’s Always been like that, loads of trailers before a film. That’s what brings people back.
From a mix of trailers, many average ones to having FOUR of the really big ones due this year all shown before one film.
Open a short then joker99, you can then make loads of money
Thanks for your input though
What was your positive point ?
Its a intresting point and one I have never really thought off.
I'm guessing it suits both party's, after all the cinema is in theory trying to entice you to come back and watch the movies it will be showing. Without showing them we wouldn't be sat tjere thinking I can't wait to see that , bit like the matt Damon film I now want to watch.
The studios also want thier films to be shown.
I can't imagine cineworld doing it for free yet it benefits them so much I can't imagine they will also charge a fortune.
It's back to the old added cliché, cinemas and studios need each other , one can't survive without the other.
Think you have (deliberately or otherwise) completely missed my (positive) point.
It’s always like this funvester, sometimes 35 min of tv & film adverts. Martin Lewis was moaning about it a few years ago
Cinema tonight was probably as expected (due to 'the game") very quiet.
However something I noted was pre movie trailers.
Not sure how this part of cinematic business works. Do the studios pay per trailer for their movies?
Is it part of getting their movies to screen the cinema chains have to air trailers X amount of times?
Don't know.
However tonight it was seriously ramped up from what it has been so far.
Trailers included : FF9, Black Widow, Suicide Squad, Venom!
That's 4 of the years major movies all advertised at one time!!
