Just wondering when the suspension RNS will drop now, as that's when the trap really takes hold. You're in it but can't do anything about it, then it gaps down. Been there once and not nice, but that's the market for you.
seems like there has been deep discussion regarding lenders converting debt for equity and a disagreement on terms causing the idea of bankruptcy protection to materialise ..... the notion of bankruptcy will no doubt sharpen the minds of those lenders who would lose in such situation and whether it might be better for them to agree the equity offered, rather than have to write their debt off....convertible loan holders too...
There are instances when lenders do decide to throw in the towel and let the whole thing collapse , so, it is clearly anyone´s guess as to what the final agreement or disagreement might be....
Company hoping that debt for equity terms can be agreed.....but even then with the Cineplex appeal still over their heads and struggling to return to pre-covid revenue levels...it would still be an uphill battle ... sadly James Bond hasnt saved Cine after all
The lenders must also face the possibility that the streaming entities of Disney/Netflix/Amazon or whoever might then offer to buy parts of the business out of the ashes ...which would infuriate them, of course
The more debts they took on, the further down the food chain the shareholders fell....
with Netflix spending $200m on The Gray Man , HBO throwing big money at "House of the Dragon" and Amazon competing with "The Rings of Power"....the big money is aimed at keeping viewers firmly in their seats at home ..with poor James Bond nowhere to be found
@sharefall, right now I’m down 95%. It is wiser to hold in my view.
I’m keeping my head held as high as possible. It has been a rough week. This would be the turnaround of the century if it turns out that way lol. I can only assume Mooky is probably hurting most out of everyone. CINE is a family business that Mooky and his family acquired and merged with their own business. Going into administration or anything like that is effectively getting their family business that they built from zero taken away from them.
LTH and gutted to see what’s happened this week
Stand to lose about 8k if they go bust. So. In for a penny. If it hits 1p. I’m gonna buy £1000 more in case it bounces
Some folks on here are completely deluded. If you hang around you'll end up with zilch!
This time it will go sub1
Why would anyone buy ?
(Alliance News) - Cineworld Group PLC is preparing to declare bankruptcy, as it struggles to recover from pandemic lows, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
I have a feeling that they have been pushed into it, and discussions have been going on for some time. There's normally no smoke without fire.
The only waffle is the article, ina court of law you can’t make such claims without evidence. The business hasn’t changed they wouldn’t of released an rns on the 17th for 2 day later to figure out they got no money lol! Unless they use their fingers and toes to count!
Around 50K loss, but still hope this will survive.
Mountainous, same boat here, really did not see this coming. Little point in me selling at this level so I will hold and see what happens.
A lot of folk gloating here, which is really odd as why would you kick a man when he is down? Sad really but some people can't control themselves and behave. ATB shareholders. Chin up.
And another winner ;)
Every share should trade like this every day ;)
And that's precisely the type of waffle that has led many over the cliff with this. Do you ever stop?
Wow, this was something unexpected on my part. You cannot make comparisons to Thomas Cook and McColls here because the former had low profit margins (from memory) and the latter had a business model that wasn’t working. CINE has neither.
Unless if the banks have decided that CINE is genuinely finished due to the high interest cost to the company. Even still, lenders could be lenient with interest payments and give us some time. If they co-operate, then CINE will be more than able to make it through. Yes, everyone may be annoyed at the management, but remember that it was the same management that got us through COVID.
Usually, with such rumours of bankruptcy CINE should release an RNS responding to the media speculation. I think over the weekend CINE will see what to say and send it out on Monday.
Can it go to 1p before 4.30pm today?
What a total disaster and nothing from Mooky or IR to calm nerves.
Absolutely disgrace from the Company that share holders have supported.
