Sony is guaranteed to have a huge hit on its hands with Spider-Man: No Way Home this coming December.
Like, really huge.
After dropping the teaser at CinemaCon and on social media Monday night, the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home racked up an-all time viewership record of 355.5 million global views in its first 24 hours, blowing away the previous record holder, Disney/Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, which drove 289M views. Simply, wow.
No Way Home‘s draw is more than double that of the second trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, which hit 135M views at the 24-hour mark. That movie, released in 2019, repped Sony’s largest-grossing title in the studio’s history with $1.131 billion
Just to summarise a couple of points on this today and to keep them all in one place.
Smalltrader post earlier - today
"KEY POINTS
At midnight on Nov. 29, tickets for the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film “Spider-Man: No Way Home” went on sale, crashing domestic movie ticket sites.
This kind of fervor has not been seen at the box office since 2019 when advanced tickets for titles like “Avengers: Endgame” and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” went on sale.
Box office analysts say it is a positive sign for the movie theater industry.

You can either book in advance or can always leave it and try and get a walk-in ticket on the day.
Good luck all whatever you choose and enjoy the rest of your everning.
I'm more then aware how market moves on sentiment.
However you have gave reason to why your opinion on the merck pill will explode the market. It would of been a lot easier if you stuck to just that.
I'm still not convinced , neither of us really know until they release it. I genuinly Really hope im proved wrong
Bonkers0801, looks like you are still failing to grasp that the share price movement is purely based on sentiment than the reality. Also if Merck says their pill works well against Omicron then do you think market will not react to it? Market is down because of Omicron. Merck pill works well if given in early stages. If Pfizer pill works well against Omicron too then market will definitely explode and you can then thank me.
FDA is meeting tomorrow to review Merck. Decision will then be made if it is approved or if they require more data.
I'm not questioning the effect it will have on the fight against covid , we live in a world where some countries still don't have vaccines , of course any drug will be good.
I'm questioning why this drug which is less effective then first thought will have a explosive impact on the market and in particular cineworld.as I said I'm sure it will do well for the Company's involved but based on the last few drugs to be approved nothing major happened , and I don't see why this will be any different.
With regards to your opening statement I'm afraid I don't react to that bait anymore , I do beg to differ.
I look forward to the explosive reaction , after all if cineworld explodes into life of the back of it then that's a good thing for me and my investment
Bonkers0801, you were proved wrong many times for questioning my research.
You will be proved wrong again on Merck pill too.
There is a reason why they are producing 10M courses by YE and a reason why US placed $1Billion order for Merck. If it was less effective like you ramble then why place $1Billion order? Why bother go for FDA approval?
Smalltrader you keep going on about this merck pill and that it's going to be explosive to the market.
My opinion it will have little effect.
The first vaccines made a super impact , since then various ones have emerged that have barely touched the market, so I'm unsure what's so special about this one.
As a matter of fact the last few days have shown the pill is less effective then first thought.

Might be good news if invested in the Company's that make the pills bit these results isn't the best way to start if the market is going to explode big
Obviously my opinion , but good finds on the spiderman media
Its the 45 day plus theatrical window for Spiderman No Way Home combined with Matrix 4 and the Kings Man (and probably a bit longer on all 3 given Bond is still showing and pulling in money) that will see us good through to February and beyond.
Topped up substantially this a.m. and a steal at 46.8p and 46.9p. Was watching HMSO up 5% (with face-masks) and us down about that with business as norma and w/out face masks into the biggest film of the year.
In the weekend, we saw big screens fully booked for House of Gucci. We will see similar packed crowd for Spiderman and Matrix all over in US. What this means for Cine is that December could be another cash flow positive month!
Good Morning Mountainous, we have hit the bottom on Friday. We have blockbuster movies coming up.
Spiderman is drawing crowd already.
Pawelb bought in as well after all the deramping last week! :-)
Clearly CINE is best placed to beat all other stocks in terms of recovery play.
Also Merck pill would have been sent to SouthAfrica already and their FDA approval is this week!
If they announce that Merck pill is working on the new variant, then markets will explode big!
Took day off on 15th . 4DX Spiderman can’t wait we have everything to be excited about the good times will come .
Good morning smalltrader and I fully agree. I think we will see a retrace just like what we saw this time last year. It’s a shame that I spent the vast majority of my remaining free funds on CINE when the price was in the middle-high 50s.
I don’t think I will be too worried about it come next year though. This will come good and plenty imo.
most importantly shorts will run for exit considering the demand for Spiderman pre-sales!
Box Office sites crashed just for pre-sales, imagine, when cinemas start screening!
Next to come is Matrix!
Oversold. We have hit the bottom. Now the rise back should be fast.
Repeat of last year, from 50s to 122 by March.
Just make sure you get your own tickets booked as you might struggle for prime time seats on the opening weekend if you don't. Should easily eclipse Bond.
Smalltrader when do you expect the numbers for prebookings to be released?
With the YouTube views this was attracting and the fact ticket office sites have crashed this hopefully is the start of a really really big money maker for us.
Wrong time for K2 to have gone short on CINE imho
