Walshy I presumed you sold if at 8
15 you still believed this would be hammered
As I said new variant in my opinion was priced in
Good luck in future investments
"just so obvious that it will be hammered" - Why is it obvious - nothing has changed for this industry.
Hopefully we can ride this out in a few weeks........just so obvious that it will be hammered. Goodluck all
Must admit I’m not looking forward to tomorrow! A little raise would be good to execute my gamble!
Hopefully not so volatile tomorrow now that PM has laid out the next 3 weeks as a precaution.

Any guesses on tomorrows opening price bearing in mind the weekend advancements on the new variant! Be interest to see peoples opinions.
Niceday fair enough, I do think there is 2 things mixing here.
Conversation on how this new variant will impact on the country is only guess work at this time , most including myself will feel this turns into a overreaction , I think the s.p has over reacted for ages now. But until we know the data it is only opinion. I also believe the government acted correctly.
Hiwever some feel if it's doomsday then next week will drop drop drop ,news I still think is priced in but for cineworld it's still business as usual, we continue to operate 100% and fully , so at this time apart from market sentiment it has had zero impact. And until it does they really are 2 separate subjects.
Bonkers. It was a bit. Just out of bed..
I think my point was that if something is emphasised in capitals, then it should be correct.
I exited Cine 25% down. Only 400 quid but would have been a lot more if left in. I keep checking back to see if it's worth putting in again. Think I'll wait a while longer.
Niceday first comment on cine and what a post that was.
OK vast majority of stocks down, pretty sure most stock markets down worldwide.
The point was supposed to be the new variant news in my opinion was priced in, people expecting this to go to 30p I believe are being extremely hopefull.
The Gp who discovered this on the 17thNOVEMBER !!! said guy had no symptoms other than fatigue and head ache no loss of smell or cough or taste and intimated that there appeared to be an over reaction in the international community as the cases were mild also i have had the same symptoms back in March 2020 it has been and gone IMOA i'v e had it March 2020 extrem fatigue and headache for three days and nothing else,
Not 'ALL' stocks were down Friday. Be precise please.

Chris Whitty says this latest variant not as bad as the delta one
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/11/26/new-covid-variant-less-worrying-delta-says-prof-chris-whitty/
Covid cases and deaths
South Africa 3M cases 89k deaths
Population fully vaccinated 28%
https://covidvax.live/location/zaf
UK 10M cases 145k deaths
Population fully vaccinated 90%
Walshy how can you say the new variant isnt priced in, it was the main headlines thursday night and look what happened to ALL stocks Friday, if it wasn't down to the new variant then what was it down too? Cine was on a downtrend but you really think the likes of rolls and tui dropped that much without the new variant priced in.
Your selling half you holding tomorrow because you believe the s.p will drop to 30p. That's over 40% from its current shre price, that would be large large drops everyday next week , prob around 10% everyday.
I see nothing at this time to warrant our s.p at the 50p based on current business, how its being allowed to operate (ie no restrictions and 100%) capacity) and where our main territories are. I totally get why we dropped Friday but personally feel we were already way undervalued. We should of had our drop from a much higher s.p.
I personally totally get why the government have reacted the way they have , they have the real scientists data. They have reacted on that data. Here we have gone from s.p forcast experts , to lawyer experts and now all of a sudden we are all doctors.
Fact is lots and lots of countries ae nervous with this variant because the protein spike has many changes and many have reacted to this mutation, because of the changes to the spike this enables it to enter our blood cells a lot easier. In turn that MIGHT lead to more hospital admissions deaths etc. WHO have also labeled it a variant of concern.
They say vaccines should offer some protection , we are a country of nearly 90% fully vaccinated over 12 years old, our knowledge of covid and drugs on offer now is far more advanced then a year ago , new vaccines can be made in 100 days. So there is also a lot of optimism amongst the experts. Worse case this could be a 3 month problem while a new vaccine is made.
It's all opinion on how this new variant moves forward, none of us can offer Fact, because we simply don't know.
All my own opinion, obviously but the this has all the signs of what will turn out to be a massive overreaction.
The statement from the chair of SA's Medical Assoc. that it only causes mild disease ties in with what FunInvestor was saying yesterday about viruses needing to be more transmissible yet less deadly in order to survive.
Just like the now prevalent Delta variant, cases will be high yet yesterday the number of people admitted to hospital was just about on par with what we saw in August.
Understandably, the government has to be seen to be doing something otherwise public opinion amongst mainstream media consumers will plummet.
However, if they were genuinely worried about a new killer strain that we have no defence to, they'll have gone a lot harder. My belief is that they know this will be the new dominant strain but will not be any more deadly or put extra burden on hospitals. They'll have had that data from SA already.
What they don't know yet is how effective the vaccines are against it. That we have to wait for.
But that won't stop the paid derampers and outright nasty c-unts from swarming this board tomorrow with their vitriol.
There's loads of us that have been through thick and thin with this and are still here. For any newbies who believe in Cine, then stick to your principles and either give this site a miss for a few weeks or just plain ignore the trolls.
As I've said before, look to this time next year:
Covid (should) be over
Court case settled
Avatar 2 about to be released and be the highest grossing movie in history.
That's all I've got for today.
Love and kisses, Crumpets. Xxx
I bought back in on Friday at 48p, but pretty convinced this will go to the 30’s now. The news has only gotten more intense, mandatory masks in the UK (I’m guessing not for cinemas though?) . I can’t see many people buying in at the current price given the sentiment over the weekend, so it’ll reduce for sure. 45p will be tested but I think gone through super quickly, then we’ll hit the high 30’s but bounce back pretty quickly as I’m sure there’s a lot of support there.
"Any idiot surely can see this!" Normally those with low self esteem like to project their feels towards others
Walshy007. You want some realistic views.
South Africa is 5 times larger than the UK.
South Africa covid 19 deaths. 89,791
United Kingdom covid 19 deaths 144,724
Let that sink in.
Walshy007 - stocks will bounce back... not sure about cine though, it normally gets hit harder than most others. If your in, just hold.
Hi
Still lurking and stay up to date
... "Great positivity but reality tells me the way the government are reacting this is serious"...
I disagree. It ain't serious.
Bouncbackability
None of the new variant are priced in, certainly not when it hits the UK. Any idiot surely can see this! Hence the title, we all lose! Apart from the LTH of course but it will take 18m easy!
Great positivity but reality tells me the way the government are reacting this is serious! I believe in hold but I am having a gamble! Lets see what happens next week! Does anybody else have any honest/ realistic views? They would be much appreciated.
Bloodbath Monday, geeez another forcast predictor.
My personal opinion is the variant is more then priced in , up or down Monday I can't see 10% in either direction.
Scientists/virologists have already stated it would require in the region of 90 changes to the virus to fully evade current vaccine. There are 30/32 I think noted.
Without doing their full ass covering (takes time to study the virus mutations) they have also noted that current vaccines especially with boosters is still likely to give cover (even good cover) on this variant.
Mutations/new variants will continue to occur, BUT in time it will be seen as no more than another covid/flu/virus (thought this likely to be during 2022/2023 for Europe/US)
It could go to 20p if we lockdown again. It all depends on the scientist verdicts! Not CEO’s of Cinema chains who want to settle the market.
I’m risking 50% on a drop to lower my average! Life is a gamble so is CIne
4 days ago you wasn't selling a single share !.
And if you say its going to 30p , why sell half ? , sell them all .
Its a no brainer :-)
