Let’s see what’s revealed on the 26th !
another group also announced plans to FLNG Chuditch after shell departed
should still be able to google it Norwegian firm but that came to naught
force majure it was still an Australian license and they lost the license, it
was in limbo until re issued under a TL license designator in Nov 2019
when they tried to kick start the industry, issued to SG for services rendered
and opened the bid round, now extended twice
As they failed to get the players they want back Bidding , deep pockets required
the 3 majors and osaka that had sunrise originally spent over $400 Million in dev
by 2010 and more required if/when a home permitted to process
Placed on care and maint from 2004
Chuditch as big or bigger , so a $1 billion development cost project
Hence the need for those players to come back , with the ability to move it all
forward quickly as the Island wants.
The Island have not allowed any gas other than Bayu an ex Austalian license
with its own pipeline to Darwin placed in the defined maritime boundary in
2018 to go anywhere. Shell thought they could pipe then flng the ISLAND has
100% control and said NO
Never mind the standard psc wording , try reading the Islands September 2021
too little to late for a successful bid round release
THEY plan to complete updated studies to attract a funder for Beaco ON ISLAND
Gas and Export LNG fac, the fundamental difference this time is
We plan to simultaneously develop Kelp , Sunrise and CHUDITCH to feed the new
refinery strings from the start (PREVIOUS failed attempts involved sunrise only)
all via a centralised hub at Sunrise where the pipeline will be built and connected
across the timor trench to the Beaco facility
I believe 20+ years of history and that statement SAYS IT ALL as it has always
been and what has to change , stop talking about it and BUILD the f n thing
or let it go to other 20 year available methods
Can be viewed if you have a subscription via UPSTEAM online and others
released 9th September 2021 if my ancient memory serves
Why do you think we did not get offers for JV etc since Nov 2019 and likewise FAILED
to raise the finance to RTO Sundagas they all know until the ISLAND clearly states
otherwise it is stranded and the gas worth $0, was a lot cheaper to take 100% SG
then and could not get the money to do it, have taken it bit by bit since
Shell spent around $40-$45 million (whats that now those where 90's prices) developing
CHUDITCH and WALKED AWAY they to had a PSC agreement
Like shell we are darwin , we are flng which they invented specifically for sun/chud, we can
say what we like BUT in the end the world knows UNTIL THEY SAY THE MAGIC WORDS
it all remains stranded
as binary as it gets , the ISLAND build or permit other methods and we KABOOOOOOOOOM
as the sector players all want back in , or it remains in limbo with the ISLAND long standing
pipe dream for a full upstream-mid-downstream industry centred on the Island and manned
by its OWN population THAT was in the original Beaco plan
Only they can make it happen , not shell , woodside or minnow baron GLA
;))
What happened with shell and others is irrelevant. Barons PSC is unrestricted subject to environmental factors. It’s not like they have a myriad of options anyway. A FLNG needs at around 5tcf to be feasible. Pipe to Santos would be easiest. Around 100ks @ $1mill per km. If do not believe this then email the board or read the PSC.
Shell stated 2001 we ARE GOING TO pipeline to darwin
Shell stated 2009 we ARE GOING TO FLNG with a 26/28 wellhead super barge
On both occasions the Island shot them down and said IT WILL COME TO THE ISLAND
others in the same situation KELP 14.5 TCF as big as Chud and sunrise put together
has neither OPERATOR or License issued as no where to go
They even have it in the constitution, its the ISLANDS, announced in parliament by
the ex resistance leader that brought them to independence for a 2nd time in 2000
Until that stance changed , the industry will not pile back in for gas assets , that's
why we used Shells figures in 2019 when trying to rto , nepotism related Dr Buttlers
on SG and Baron BOD, immediately after issued to them for services rendered since
2016
the market response luke warm from day one , all know the score GAS = $0
and back then figures higher than barons one side of the license reports only
they why are Sunrise still waiting its been ready to go since 2001
I always wondered how they acquired the license as it did not make sense. There is a lot of jiggery pokery going on in that region and assumed we had benefited from that. Sunda had been sniffing around for a long time. Either way we have the license, it is not restricted and hopefully shed loads of gas.
Hfb. Read the PSC. Baron are free to do what they want with the gas. Whether that be a floating lng or pipe to Santos.
all currently have no value attached to the gas reserves, hence our MC
The seismic might give a lift but the real mega multi bags will not come
unless a path to monetise is PERMITTED by the Island Gov
Been like that for 20+ years , only they can change that, Shell etc much
bigger fish than Baron all failed to get them to budge
Now going for another set of surveys etc to try to get someone to pay for and
build the Beaco facility on the Island and associated pipeline
Get a funder , it will be built , KABOOOOOOOOOM - Gas has a home
If not they must now allow the long available methods, or loose out
to future Green projects, now being sought by China , Japan , Korea
and OZ
when the boundary ratified sunrise which straddles the border was allocated
50/50 with OZ , they have now coceeded it to be 70/30 to TL even if processed
at Darwin and they still say no
Kelp , Chuditch etc are 100% TL , only they can give value back to the stranded
worthless gas, why do you think with the volumes we have shells old figures
around 850 - 1.7 Billion boe 5 to 10 tcf or Barons 3 tcf 510mboe
We sit with such a low market cap, the world has known for decades , Shell
Conoco Phillips , BHP , Nexen etc etc departed frustrated by the Island
How do you think a minnow got to get a hold of such a Huge asset on the cheap
worthless until the Island provide the facilities or let it go to OZ or Indonesian
refineries nearby or Shell invented FLNG available since 2008
As its been since day one , ALL ABOUT THE ISLAND and a decision
applies to all , kelp is 14.5 TCF as big as Sunrise and Chuditch put together
it has neither operator or license in issue currently for the same reasons
NO ISLAND FACILTIES
and for 20 years they have insisted its ours it will be processed on the island
Have you read the PSC?
What applies to Woodside might not apply to Boil.
My understanding is Boil are free to do as they wish subject to environmental factors.
I believe at present has to be processed and monetised from TL but money talks and Asia will be out of gas by 2030
I don’t really follow this thread so much. But remember something being mentioned about the Gov not allowing monetisation of the assets
Have you been underground this last year?
