As long as Ribera is in charge of MITECO, her "over my dead body" attitude to allowing any further progress in this project is going to curtail any steps forward for BKY. The best hope yet again is for a change of government at the next election.
You'd hope they'd be obliged to give reasons, but maybe they don't have to. Bky are rubbish at explaining what all these proceedings are. I thought some sort of court was involved here but maybe it was just akin to a formal request to miteco for it to reconsider on the basis of BKY'S arguments.
For what reason have MITECO rejected it?
Unsurprising that Miteco reject the appeal perhaps and I doubt there's a collaborative amicable solution. This needs to get before an independent court.
The 2023 Spanish general election will be held no later than Sunday, 10 December 2023, to elect the 15th Cortes Generales of the Kingdom of Spain.

I guess if the same green communists, socialist donkeys and all round agrarians get selected we are going to court.

SP continuing north following big jump on ASX. Sentiment improving perhaps. Can't see anything earth shattering in the quarterlies but nice emphasis on nuclear's importance and uptrend in U prices, and moving away from Russian U. Time is ticking down to the election too and there's always the chance the current government could start acting lawfully for once, or maybe even accept they got this one wrong. The court ruling could help if it ever arrives.
Very
'“The PP believes that this technology must play a key role in the ecological transition as a support for renewable energies, since the opposite would imply greater gas consumption and therefore greater dependence on countries such as Russia.
“Security of supply concerns continued to be raised in Spain given that the country’s existing nuclear power and fuel fabrication facilities import approximately 39% (2020) of their required uranium from Russia.”'
At first I thought it was German green interference which was stopping this mine being built, now I would not discount Russian interference maybe via Germany.
How phuckin thick are this current sitting government in Spain?
Sp creeping up a bit. Sentiment? Court case?
This interview with Justin Huhn is interesting, that figure is around the 26 min mark. He said that figure invested in Nuclear would see them through the next 80 years.
By 2025 Germany will have spent 580 billion on renewables,

Does someone in Spain not see this folly at what point do the people say NO we are not funding your agrarian ideology!
Come on Spain you are holding the 'carbon free progress of humanity' back!

Assessing the carbon footprint and environmental impact of wind power is tricky. You do have to factor in building and raw materials mining (including the damage from rare earth metals mining in China etc). You also have to include the cost of keeping gas turbines on standby 24/7 and indeed their carbon/environmental impact when in use, because you can't effectively store wind energy and it doesn't always blow. Every winter (like in late Nov/early Dec last year) you get high pressure cold still conditions with leaden skies where for weeks on end wind and solar are virtually useless. Add in the full impact of the gas and coal back up at the time, and wind's carbon footprint is very significant.
Agree nuclear needs to be developed and is being developed further etc, that's why I am invested in uranium stocks.
Don't agree re comments on wind turbines. See eg https://www.iema.net/articles/calculating-carbon-payback-for-wind-farms. Even if these figures are two+ fold off what you say is incorrect.
I agree,
For me personally to be reliable on the Russian Sphere or USA sphere for raw energy supplies is not comforting. Also Chinese finance does not make me feel comfortable either.
Europe plus a little old Sovereign UK, at the top of the pyramid, should be self determining in energy.
I do not mind taking cheap raw energy from the Russians as long as we have a plan B to immediately go to should they start 'interfering and influencing' within our borders.
Permitting BKY's mine would accelerate the process of the world weaning itself off Russian uranium. No one should be buying it certainly.
HNY guys btw. Things might look very different come the end of this year. New govt, permits even?
I am assuming there is Russian interference in the European Nuclear sector, they don't trust us or particularly like us much.
I have to disagree this is a war in Ukraine though, the sooner the British Govt drops this rhetoric the sooner we will get some sort of normality out there!
"Western countries are being urged to stop buying Russian nuclear fuel amid fears the trade is funding the war in Ukraine.
Russia is one of the world’s largest uranium suppliers with around 40pc of global capacity for uranium enrichment.
While Europe has been weaning itself off Russian fossil fuels, its nuclear sector is still heavily dependent on Russian imports.
“We need to escalate our collective pressure against the Kremlin, and the nuclear industry is exactly one of the arenas that needs to be considered,” said Tobias Ellwood, chairman of Parliament's defence committee."
I suspected the German Greens may have been involved someway in stopping this mine being developed but I would not discount Russian interference as well.
It is screaming out that Europe needs domestically sourced Uranium for security but for some reason, wind is the answer.
As for the windmills - by the time you have mined the metal out of the ground, forged it into shape, dug the whole for it to go in and extracted all the lime for concrete for its base and its expected lifespan before requiring repair and replacing. You may as well just burnt the coal.
These people are just so ignorant and arrogant it defies belief!
I fear he has come up with the answers Paul. It's...wait for it.....wind and solar!! Yay!
And he's fanatical about it too.
Unfortunately he hasn't realised he's a great asset for the fossil fuels industry, and its successful future because no government would allow the emissions and chaos he's pushing for.
A quick look at the GB energy dashboard for electricity generation just now tells me wind's contributing 3% (same as coal) and solar 2%.
It's tragic.

Has that idiot Castillon, im trying to remember his name, come up with any answers on how they are going to provide energy post fossil fuels?
I agree the European continent should not be trading with other blocs for Uranium.
That includes, Russia/Asia, Africa and the Americas.
The only trade we should really be doing with Russia, is cabbages, vodka, caviar and fine Russian ladies.
