It has been delayed by a quarter due to Covid, so getting the test out will be a classic win/win (for anyone playing buzzword bingo) and herald a major inflection point.
Depends how one looks at it regarding quarters, I'm going from the beginning of the tax year not from the companies y/e date.
He actually said the end of 2020, the beginning of 2021. This is Q3 & Q4.
In the last video Sir Al stated this study was due to start Q1 2021.
Is that another delay after the placing hmmm. “Sir” Alastair lets just wait until he actually delivers something!
Wasn't the timeline brought forward a quarter when he threw £30m at it after the placing?
Hi Ken. Re "Q4 should see the start of one of the most important cancer chemotherapy stage 1 trials commencing. "
In the last video Sir Al stated this study was due to start Q1 2021.
Monday 13th is my birthday and I have put a massive RNS on my birthday list, it is infact all I want. Im sure if it comes there will lots of us partying.
Alistair Smith is a quality CEO and I sure he will deliver it, hopefully on Monday. I'm sure he is keen to get an update out.

Good evening everyone,
I have had a quick check in a few times over the last couple of days. So very good discussions taking place. I have been very opportunistic with some more buys as the price has dropped. I keep thinking why are most investors so impatient. Everyone reads what Warren Buffet says with respect to building and holding and having researched wait for the market to catch up. We have had chapter one, the seeds are sown and the most important work with respect to the two Covid19 testing is in place. The news about production partnerships must be close, the news that the assays are being transferred are close, the news relating to a partnership to produce a neutraliser for the virus is close. Q4 should see the start of one of the most important cancer chemotherapy stage 1 trials commencing. The accumulation of the projects are sure to bring great reward. The virus continues to reach higher and higher numbers across the globe and the final impact is nowhere near reached. The UK investors have gone a little cool, because they see the UK going back to a new ‘normal level’, but the world is far from that.
The world markets have been performing way ahead of the reality, but reality is about to set in. UK news about job losses and a complete reset is coming, and the last 4 months has changed the way we all do things. This will have a huge effect on the market, until life can be reset again. The fight to ensure mass testing, a treatment that can be relied on and even more important cancer patients get chemotherapy treatments without side effects resulting in multiple hospital treatments due to super low immune systems and neutropenia which are the oncologists and patience worse case situation is critical.
Avacta, have multiple solutions ready to be taken to the next level. We are so close. Rewards come to the patient.
When the impatient sell, the smart money continues to buy. That remains my position here.
Will we get any news tomorrow, we all hope so, but next week must be the start of some really good news flow.
Too late? I don’t think so!
Have a good evening.
Cheers Rich
I live in hope
No Friday rns in June but there were 2 in may and one of them being the Bams partnership. Just goes to show that news could literally land anytime and Alistair seems to have no preference.
The recovery of the wider market seems to be stalling. FTSE 100 and 250 have both been falling all week, same tomorrow I imagine. Perhaps realisation Covid is not over and the cold and flu season is only two months away now... Potential for real problems.
If it continues, won't be surprised to see everybody piling back into the pharma and covid stocks... could be good for AWCT...
If AVACTA pull it off (a high performance LFT) it really will be a game changer as many in the industry just dont think it can be done. Many are saying even a mid-performing LFT will help massively.
I think AS video on 23 June was for few purposes:-
Manage expectations for the 24 june RNS.
Quash rumours that there was issues with the LFT
(optimising to make it the best, not just to get one that works.
Explain in layman's terms what they were aiming for.
Milcait, I agree with you. Awacta have churned out a number of interviews and videos stating what they're doing and aiming for. The company has been very firm that it will succeed and bring these tests to market.
It would be bizarre for the company to go to such lengths to set themselves up for a massive failure. The long term damage to the companies value would be signicant as all trust would be lost in the CEO. I know many will point out this is AIM etc etc, but Sir Al does not strike me as a shady character who's out to mislead people. His message has been clear the whole way through and has not changed. There's been no backtracking or anything along those lines.
I know people are still talking about the placing and previously being supposedly 'fully funded,' but he took the opportunity to secure the future of the company whilst bringing a very dilligent hedge fund on board at £1.20 when they could've bought in at 20p only a number of weeks beforehand.
People who are against the placing and still going on about it are basically suggesting that you don't need a lot of money to bring whats likely to be one of the planets most in demand products to market, whilst simultaneously working on revolutionising cancer treatments. Yes, there was clearly a leak but there's no way of knowing whether than came from Awacta. It probably didn't in my opinion and therefore has no reflection on the company.
I reckon it will be LFT.
And whilst % sens and spec might not be mentioned, if High is mentioned then we will know how good the test could be once clinical test completed.
Manufacture handover/production will run in parallel with clinical tests. May have even started as many components of the LFT will be known by now.
What does everybody think will be the next RNS in relation to the LFD?
This video coming out 24 hrs before the Optimising RNS.
Going to great lengths recording a video which repeatedly emphasises how high you are aiming for the test performance.....
Would you do that if you were miles away?
https://youtu.be/2o9tF4bOAVk
1 min 50 sec
Shows what a high performance test is
7 min 30 sec. Repeats high numerous times and says aiming for high performance test.
10min 20 sec. Mentions min standard, but aiming for much higher. AND reiterates point about swab sample collection not being great.
