HALIFAX ar pants worst share dealing site out
i think the response I got from Argo directly is clear enough @gladiator - I invite you to contact him directly then to see what happens. ATB
Is it not worth tweeting Argo /PW direct too see what we need to do in order too vote
Thanks GPVG - I'll not get too excited then ..
Let's hope so @amanesia ... I just wanted to an opportunity like many of us here to ensure it does go through and that the "dilution crowd" don't upset the apple cart!!!!
Onwards argonauts!
I trade with Halifax and hadn't received any sort of communication to vote, so I've just been on chat with them. They said the last day to vote is today and they've been able to pass my vote (YES) on.
Likewise surprised by HL.
HL offered a voting service for recent RMS GM resolutions. A new icon appeared under Actions that led to voting.
Yes. I would really like to vote but my assumption is it will go through without too much trouble. Slightly peeved with HL, but I'll save my energy for if and when there's something I want to vote against.
It's all a bit of a pain the neck, but hopefully the resolution will go through "on the nod". I can't imagine any major investors objecting to such a clearly added-value expansion.
I contacted HL on 19th Feb, asking the following question:
I was expecting to receive a voting form with respect to my Argo Blockchain Plc holdings, in respect of a General Meeting on 5 March. I haven't received anything yet, when I should expect this to come through?
The response arrived on 26th Feb and was of little use to be honest:
Company resolutions are usually voted on at shareholder AGMs (Annual General Meetings). I'm afraid we don't automatically send out notification of shareholder meetings or voting forms to clients who hold shares in an HL Account.
However, this doesn't stop you from partaking or voting in any future AGMs on any of the shares that you hold. If you'd like to attend any AGM or vote on any of the company’s shares that you hold, you simply need to inform us two weeks prior to the AGM and we'll send out a letter of attendance or arrange for you to be on the list of attendees. You can also lodge your votes with us.
Furthermore, you're able to find out the dates for an AGM on our website by first selecting the share that you hold on our website. You then just need to click on the 'Company Information' tab and any upcoming AGM should be listed under ‘Important dates’. If there's nothing listed under future events then you can use the previous AGM listed under past events as an indication of when the next AGM will be, as most companies will hold their AGM's at the same time each year.
You can inform us that you're both interested in attending a meeting, and registering your vote, either by telephone or secure message.
Whilst we don't provide specific AGM notifications we do offer a share alert service which covers Regulatory News Service (RNS) announcements. The majority of listed companies will announce an upcoming AGM via RNS as well as use the RNS to disclose resolutions for voting. You can manage these alerts from within the 'Email Preferences and Share Alerts' tab of the 'Account settings' section of your portfolio.
The alerts are available for UK stocks only and will expire after 90 days.
Fellow Argonauts
Just in case any of you are having trouble finding out how to vote on Friday (I would vote yes if I could), I received this email from the Argo team this morning. In short unless you are someone with an actual share certificate you can only vote through your broker. I have contact HL this morning so lets see how long this takes ... I have marked it as urgent ... fingers crossed
Hi Mark,
Thanks for your e-mail and for supporting Argo.
Unfortunately, unless you hold a share certificate in your own name it is unlikely your name appears on the company’s share register, which is used to determine who is entitled to vote at the general meeting. Instead, you will need to contact whoever you hold the shares through (whether that is your broker, investment platform or nominee account) and they will have a mechanism to enable you to cast your vote. Please use this route to exercise your vote - obtaining and submitting a copy of a form from elsewhere is likely to be invalid and will not be counted, as the holder on the form must link to the share register.
For example, if you hold through Interactive Investor or HSBC, it will be them that would be named on the register. Such holders will aggregate the votes of all of the people holding shares through them and will vote accordingly.
We look forward to receiving your vote!
Regards,
The Argo Team
