Ladders "It was a sample from a the 36t? So overall a better ratio???"
GF said 20.7g per tonne of concentrate. If you watch youtube demonstrations of water shuffle tables, you will notice that I was being very generous to say >100 tonnes of raw ore. More likely > 500 tonnes to obtain one tonne of concentrate.
The point does need to addressed by GF.
If we take on face value what has actually been said. The gold content is extreemly low and definitely not a viable mine.

Re: Falling price of gold
Although it has slipped over the past few months, governments all over the world have been moneyprinting for well over a decade now.
In fact ALBA are permitted to sell gold found during the exploration and development phase of Clogau St Davids and Gwynfynydd. The royalties payable are 4%.
That is of course a rather unusual, but beneficial arrangement
The business model of most mineral exploration companies is to take an unproven mineral resource, explore it to a standard that its probability of success as a workable mine is proven and then pass it on to others to extract the resource.
So the value adding on the whole is not from the sale of ore but the appreciation of value of a mineral asset
Re: Wizard125
Its my understanding that Alba doesn't currently hold any production licences, only exploration licences. So they aren't allowed to mine, they can only drill, dig trenches & test the samples.
So until they apply/ &/or are granted permissions, all they can do explore... with zero cash generative income
:S
With the price of gold falling by almost 11% over the last 6 months Alba need to stop talking & start producing gold before the advantages have completely gone as the pandemic subsides over the next few months & the share price drifts lower & lower.
He did state on the last update that there is visible gold but they need to drain the mine which they are getting the ok for ... that’s when it gets exciting
@cjmorley + @Yanis - but it wasn't from 100t was it?
It was a sample from a the 36t? So overall a better ratio???
Cj, good point. I hope Alba responds to your email. Is this kind of confusion that dims the interest.
With a different attitude the SP would have been a lot higher now ... Alba is way undervalued compared to its peers. Unfortunately, is the lack of drum beating by the BOD that keeps the SP low. GGP showed the market gold finds on several occasions during their expedition. XTR is very good with the RNSs - look at their SP.
Talking about veins is technically correct, but the marketer needs to see gold ...
Yanis. I was quite concerned with the choice of words in that Q&A session. GF doggedly spoke of "grams per tonne of concentrate". If you watch youtube usages of the water tables in action, to obtain a tonne of concentrate would require > 100 tonnes of raw ore.
I emailed Alba to ask for clarification on this point but had no reply.
PB, I don’t believe what happened in Range Resources can happen here.
GF has integrity, but he is far too cautious. I do however believe that he can show gold if he decides to - we already know that he is got some from the sample that was sent to the laboratory and came up with 20.7 g/t and confirmation of flowsheet. Also, after 2+ years in the mine he must have come across to some finds? The Daily Telegraph did report in the past that Alba retrieved gold samples.
Also, the Pilot Plant has been in operation for some time now - show some concentrate? Hell ... during the webcast he showed a piece of concentrate and said it was from previous expeditions and they came across to it —- why wasn’t that piece from the Pilot Plant?
I'm fully loaded here but does anyone remember "pirate Pete" Landou from Range Resources - he was the most enthusiastic smiling faced aussie you would ever see... google and see what happened there... not my greated investment!
I think we can say with great certainty that GF would show any gold they find.
We also know that the gold in that area has always been found in nugget form within the quarts veins.
I remain very confident that once they start to pull tons of ore out, they will find plenty.
I sure hope so, cos' I am grossly overweight in this stock :-(
I know what you are saying Yanis, but they did say first quarter. They are doing what they can to present a very positive outcome coming our way, but the market likes certainty. One thing is for certain, George and Mark wont dare show their faces anywhere if this doesn't come to fruition. We have seen the podcasts, we have read the tweets, seen the television interviews, watched them grinning from ear to ear...
I just can't imagine anyone putting themselves on offer like that if they weren't as near certain as possible they will hit gold, and lots of it.
When is GF going to wake up and show some gold?
The RNS today was good ... but not good enough to generate sentiment and interest, the market was expecting something different, hence the SP dipping.
Alba has been working IN A GOLD MINE for quite sometime now .... is time to show some gold.
Only then will the SP appreciate. Even showing some concentrate from the Pilot Plant will do the trick.
