All the present evidence looks very positive imo and would suggest great results for Clogau when finally released. Have to agree with you elir71 regarding the MM actions. Even with such positive news very soon, the MMs do seem to be very controlling of the sp and are able to manipulate it easily with the aid of derampers etc. Having said that one just has to try and hold through the volatile times so as to get massive rewards when news finally comes. Positive news will come re:Clogau imo and the sp will multibag at that time so it makes sense to just keep topping up when possible to really benefit from the re rate. Following Clogau, we have big news due from the Greenland assets. Alba is becoming a very undervalued strong play. Just have to get through the turbulence from the MMs et al
Elir... Very good post
@Yajnas
As far as I am aware the undergound drilling and bulk sampling should conclude this week and I would hope that the company will make an announcement to state this. This is based on their statements near the resumption of exploratory work in early October after a weeks' break. Originally I had worked on the assumption that the test results would have been published about 2 weeks after the end of site investigation based on timescales of geotechnical investigations I had been involved in in the early 90s. However, the results of the previous samples tested at Clogau took two months. Working on that then I am expecting the assay results in late December, or early January. In the meantime I expect MMs will be doing a lot of "tree shakes", deliberately dropping quoted prices on thin volumes in an attempt to trigger private investor's stop losses. This is usually accompanied by negative posts on bb such as this which are not substantiated by any factual news. If I was a cynic, I could conclude that the accounts from which such posts spring from are "under the influence" of such MMs as they seem to be coordinated. Of course it may also be investors holding short positions.
That is not to say that all "negativity" is irrational, there remains a fair amount of risk as theire are many uncertainties. Its up to you to weigh up these factors and come to your own conclusions as to the likely outlook for the company and whether or not your analysis is compatible with your own unique personal investment goals, circumstances and attitude towards risk.
When is this likely?

Blue-horseshoe, I believe the gold was sold to invest in securities as gold was very volatile at the time and not increasing in value enough over time. I think the investments made became far more valuable than the gold would be now. Gold is nice and safe at the moment, but when it was sold previously, there were better deals to be done (especially during the economic boom).
@Blue-horsehoe - As I remember it, Brown sold 300 tonnes of gold at under £300/oz. Even at today's rate of nearly £1500/oz it would come to under £15bn, not much when this crisis is needing £hundreds of billons thrown at it. I do think people should hold a little physical gold themselves for a rainy day and one thing I see these days is how few savings people have tucked away for the hard times.
It's a crying shame all that gold was sold at the bottom of the market. Would have been helpful through the financial crisis and now. Anyway it gone now unfortunately but there's a lesson there somewhere
Is that waste of good oxygen still around? Brown the Clown. Sell low, buy high. Imagine having that imbecile on the BOD of Alba, I'd run a mile and several more!
Absolute blood bath in the markets. Oil down, Gold down, FTSE down, £ down...We are holding well compared to elsewhere. If ALBA finishes blue today it will be a result.
more to do with things not related to clogau...
0.4500 -0.0070 -1.53%
.... the only one with his finger hovering over the SELL button would be Gordon Brown.
Gold up around $2,000 an ounce, and about to head north with all the economic implications and whispers of $3,000 an ounce by 2022
“Sounds like a sell to him”
Don't you love the way they widen the spread to make it appear this share isn't going to take off into the 0.5's soon??
Awesome getting close to my average please keep going... moons the limit
I'm not one to get carried away either but having been in a fair few mining stocks over the years - some coming good, many not, I've never been invested in one with so many indications that this is about to blow skywards. The investment in the processing plant before before the assay results, the full time appointment of M.A. (who has a good professional reputation and won't want to risk it), the proven historic reserves, the other 10 identified areas, other sites, positive newsflow etc etc etc. They would look absolute idiots if this isn't all shortly proven as mighty positive. I don't believe they would risk that, especially not investing in a processing plant before the results. They know it in their bones and I think many on this board do too.
The appointment has significant added value to Greenland projects. Exciting prospects ahead.
I did the same, bought more at over my long term holding... But I see Alba as the next big thing!
volume on AIM:
yesterday's session: 64.8m
so far today: 88.6m
After having my fingers severely burnt on several occasions over the years ( who hasn't.. ?) I find it is not a good idea to get too attached to some companies and if you are in profit look to minimise risk. But after doing more than the usual DD and selling at circa 0.15/16 and just keeping a few ( just in case ) I have done something which i have never done before, namely bought them back plus more at higher prices than i sold at.
Time will tell if that was a huge mistake! But this does look a very exciting play, and i'm not the type to get too enthusiastic about any share, that pleasure has been beaten out of me over the years. We have a great chance here, and i'm very comfortable and not looking to sell any.
Yes torch is on what looks like yellow, top right 5 glistening targets
What do you think of the latest photo on Twitter?
If we had a tweet showing some gold deposits in a vein that would be the icing today. Good day.
