In August 1921, while Roosevelt was on vacation at Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada, his life was transformed when he was stricken with poliomyelitis. He suffered intensely, and for some time he was almost completely paralyzed. His mother urged him to retire to the family estate at Hyde Park, but his wife and Howe believed it essential that he remain active in politics. For his part, Roosevelt never abandoned hope that he would regain the use of his legs.

Nom Roosevelt did massive work for farmers in the dust bowl...........
Started canning meat for the farmers...................
Down under farms became dust bowls due to cutting down trees, raised the salt water levels that killed the grass, goats down under and in the US farmed more now, goats can eat plants the will kill other animals and humans.
kenny,
They forgot how important cover crops are... They are killing their soil and another dust bowl is coming. It takes a decade to regrow just 1 cm of topsoil.
I own PHC shares as I think they are part of the solution of rebuilding soil health [NPK is just junk food for soil].

Chinese firms have expanded their presence in American agriculture over the last decade by snapping up farmland and purchasing major agribusinesses, like pork processing giant Smithfield Foods. By the start of 2020, Chinese owners controlled about 192,000 agricultural acres in the U.S., worth $1.9 billion, including land used for farming, ranching and forestry, according to the Agriculture Department.
