I think its been a big cock up this morning ? over kill bye the MM.
Looks like a transaction cock up.
Might do better to wait a while anyway. I think this will go sub 60p yet. (Someone just sold 1,000,000)
I would have expected a small fall with the RNS this morning but no way this much. That is why i have topped up with some more,
I think the MM have over done this imo ?
I would if I had the funds, this seems a disproportional drop. GLA
People will be getting a bargain at this price fill your boots, I will be buying some more at this price
On the way back up slowly ?
18 March 2014 Speedy Hire Plc ("Speedy" or "the Group") Trading Update Following a review of its most recent management information, Speedy today provides an update on trading and its outlook for the year ending 31 March 2014. In the Interim Management Statement of 12 February 2014, we stated that "whilst performance in International is running behind expectation, the UK performance to date gives the Board confidence that the Group will meet its expectations for the full financial year". However, · asset sales are running at a slower pace than anticipated and below historical trends; · trading losses in our Middle East business are likely to be greater than anticipated as the business is being stabilised. The performance of the International division will also be negatively impacted by adverse foreign exchange movements relating to the Kazakhstan Joint Venture; and · whilst total UK revenues are marginally higher than in the same period in the prior year, reflecting growth in services revenue, the higher margin hire revenues for February and March are below forecast. As a consequence, the Speedy Board now expects adjusted PBT* for the year ending 31 March 2014, to be in the region of £14.5 million. Focus for the Group is on completing the stabilisation of the International division, and in the UK, focussing the sales effort to take advantage of the improving economic conditions, and delivering the previously announced network and asset optimisation projects. Speedy also confirms that its Preliminary Results for the year to 31 March 2014 will be announced on 13 May 2014. * before amortisation and exceptional costs
Bad start to the day i think?
Nice little rise ?
Morning all.
More chance of AHT opening a depot on Mars than making a bid for Speedy. Absolutely no point. Unless SDY were so cheap that it would make sense as an asset strip. And there is no chance of that either.
Many thanks for the replies to my post. Unfortunately the investment club only bought £1,000 of SDY. We don't have a great track record either. Bit of fun really.... I'm wondering if SDY might be a bid target for the likes of AHT. Makes an awful lot of sense to me, but wishful thinking I suspect. Let's hope the small daily rises continue....
Look likes 82.50/82.75 open?
I believe sdy are branching out to dubai.
AHT, SDY, VP. all in the same sector but with different strategies. All hire (rent) out metal of some description, key to their success is how well they manage the cyclical nature of the industry, (construction of some description making up a large chunk of their revenue.) Most, including SDY, have heavily downsized in fleet in 2008/2009 and are now scaling up again. I see SDY with a sp of 160 - 180 in next two years with a few retraces along the way. Wish they would join AHT in the US where there is still bags of scope.
Gaining momentum post Ashtead's results? 90p next week?
Think we can see a little bit more today 83p ?
Looks like your recommendations to your investment club was spot on! Must be a big club to have had this effect :)
Hi Guys Been out of the market for a couple of years, but just bought SDY having recommended them to my investment club. Are these guys similar to Ashtead which does equipment hire in the US? I missed out on them at 106p now over 900p in a few years...
Two nice buys just gone though
What i should have said building a nice little nest egg.
Yes i agree. As i said on Monday some news on its way i think?
Feels like something's going on that we don't know about yet
