That chart looks like a bull flag about to break out to me!
chart looks stable.... http://invst.ly/1sk6d
I think so too; had been expecting ARM to rise after recent results, they keep their eye on the ball and don't need to bother about anything going on in the demand economy because so many different products are ussing and going to use their software and now ARM have covered themselves on the robotics front- smart movers.
I buy into 'The Internet of things', big idea.
Apple's SP is tumbling after reports of a 70 - 80% drop in chip shipments for the iphone. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-12/aapl-plunges-after-report-70-80-plunge-iphone-chip-shipments
.....for Apple maybe??
ARM are stuck in a plateauing marketplace. Next year won't be so good.
http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/chips-aren-t-ARM-profits-grow/story-29144740-detail/story.html http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/news/market-news/market-news-detail/ARM/12783897.html Q1 2016 Financial Summary · Group revenues in US$ up 14% year-on-year (£ revenues up 22% year-on-year) · Processor royalty revenues in US$ up 15% year-on-year, outperforming the industry by 18pp1 · Normalised operating expenses were impacted by weaker sterling; at constant exchange rate normalised operating expenses were 2% higher than Q4 2015, and around the top end of the guidance range2 · Normalised PBT and EPS up 14% and 15% year-on-year respectively
Any thoughts on this drop so far? Seems over done to me but given current markets I am surprised anyone can call it. This shouldn't be affected by Brexit or oil apart from in a more general way...

UKChips About to Explode- Have a read of SteakB 21/2/16 SteakB Won't dispute your numbers - but if 85% domination of Cell Phones Sw, which will increase to 100% creating 15% growth in a growth market (albeit only 6% as opposed to 15% to 20%) cannot be bad. Imho that justifies a Peg of 1.5 alone. Then there are Servers, IoT (big one Cars, but the money more likely in labels), partnerships ... This new business is not built into the value of the Company. If I sell bread from a shop I will get a steady income, but if I start selling cakes as well I will probably increase my income. In normal trading it will cost more to make Cakes - Computing is not like that - How much wood can a fire Burn? Moat - Yes arm is uncoiling into a Gorilla. Peg - An estimate of comparative value for growth Coys, but only if they can maintain their EpsG. Arm should increase their EpsG significantly as IoT becomes more widespread, justifying a much higher Peg. My point about arm income (41% US, 59% Se Asia) is that it is not dependant on Brexit, (and US, Ok) but I don't know how much income comes from China (mainly S Korea, Japan, Taiwan ...) But does it matter - these will be Chinese exports. Curr Peg = 1.00. Peg Dec 11 = 2.69. So if prospects for arm as good as they were in Dec-11 then the Sp should be 2.69/1.00 * 10.24 = 2744. But could be wrong again!
This share stock is so b***** boring now, indeed the Footsie ( soon to be gobbled up by the Germans) is stiflingly boring. I would gladly lose my shirt just to see some action on this share, make some purchases i.e Imagination Technology or issue a share split or get a new PR firm or something, just anything! Announce something Mr.Segar, please...wake us investors up!
Hi NW The mkt is obsessed with the fact that Arm has an 85% mkt share in mobile and on one level is correct to think that mobile mkt is slowing down ie from 15/20% you growth to 6% in the next few years. The mkt therefore is cautious on the IOT market where there is a large Target Addressable Market albeit unproven and also unproven is how much ARM will participate. This simply provides opportunities for LTHs to spread bet or CFD whilst holding for the long term. They have a moat. Intels future is uncertain. Alphabet and Facebook are moving away from Intel towards Qualcomm which uses ARM architecture. Play the PEG game. It works
Hi SteakB My holding in arm is 16% of Port with just 2 % profit. I do not know why they are so much out of favour now (ie how does Brexit / China affect arm? Income from SE Asia 59%, US 41%) My argument (from Eps) is they should be valued at over 1600 now and will not sell any until that is reached. Probably your strategy of working from Peg is a better idea, buy/hold until Peg>1.5 then sell some and buy back on weakness. Sp not going to be 1600 any time soon, so I will just hold. Too risky to sell and hope to get back in before a surge. BoL
wow.
ARM, TSMC Announce Multi-year Collaboration on 7nm FinFET. Link: http://en.ctimes.com.tw/DispNews.asp?O=HK03FBW9ZLMSAA00N5
Should be breaking through £10 soon - and then heading north I hope. Any thoughts out there ?
I thought arm was hugely undervalued before I read your link and now I think it is even more undervalued! Dec-13 price 1106, NEps 20.6 - Arm's own numbers Feb-16 Price 937, NEps 30.2 ie Price should 50% higher (than 1106) not lower. The 5 year plan shows where the coy is going and how little it is dependant on apple, imagination... Convinced it will take off soon.

Attention should be paid to the Total Available Market by 2020 and what proposals ARM have to participate. Mouthwatering reading. There is no other company quite like this. NIGE, I trade these as well as a good holding in the ole SIPP. I'm. Giving thought to a trading strat where a swing trader can hit the B button around PEG 1,1x and close at 1,4x. These numbers have moved down from the high 1s to their current level and required resetting. Your thoughts are appreciated.
http://www.androidheadlines.com/2016/02/arm-introduce-cortex-r8-modem-chip-ready-for-5g-speeds.html This is the chip which will be used in the new smartphones required for 5G.
Pensioner 167 Well done - very well explained! You sound as though you have your finger well and truly on the button!!
All quiet on here after the initial shock and confusion regarding the fall, keep the faith and well done to anyone who averaged down, I think this stock is a Buffett style 'buy and forget' for the next 4 years imho.
Thank you for your thanks. The following shows a picture of the new building. http://www.carterjonas.co.uk/news-and-events/news-and-press-releases/Sep-2015/arm-holdings-plc.aspx The size is 200000 square feet. It seems that just about every year they build a new building but this is a big one.
Very interesting post. Thank you.
