Ive been banging on occasionally about how AIM-listed Bowleven (BLVN) seems to offer value. I suspect that we will be off to the races shortly, for some detail of an appraisal drilling campaign in its 20%-owned Etinde field has been announced and the company is carried through this campaign. This first appeared on *************. Are you missing the likes of it, Tom Winnifrith's bearcasts & more. Access for less than 2p an article HERE This stock was one of my suggestions in the 2018 New Year tip-fest - I then noting we now have a slimmed down company (in terms of costs), an asset which could be worth a stack of cash, and around 65 million of cash around 2/3 of the market cap. Thats a pretty good margin of safety. I now consider everything continues to look to be shaping up nicely for a result. Indeed, I think we could have a result before the half-year is out. This is with the company having announced on 1st February that New Age (an Etinde partner) has contracted a driller to arrive on scene and the company expects the first spud during Q2. Ariana Resources - company chat. More from Nigel Somerville HERE There's also the active investor which wants cash in the form of Crown Ocean - which led a shareholder revolt against the previous board. At the time, Crown was suggesting that not all of the cash was needed, and that Bowleven needed to be turned into a holding company. My read of that is that Crown will want the company to sell the rest of its Etinde stake (for a jolly good price), that the drilling is expected to lead to a decent increase in resources, and that any buyer will want to strike ahead of the drilling. Reach4Entertainment - Gate out at 1.5p. Now the fightback can begin. Read HERE After all, Bowlevens shares are priced for the cash and not a lot more at the moment. Drilling success could change that and eventually lead to further payments dating from when the company sold off part of its holding. So I expect an offer to come in over the next few months, and that the board will be sorely tempted (due to management incentives) to take it. Even if it does not, I would imagine a certain amount of excitement as drilling approaches. So I still rate this stock as a buy.
