Yes a bit quiet alright!
This share seems a bit unloved, what’s the story? The basics seem fine? GLA.
I'm not sure if anybody still follows this board, over three years since the last message. I've been looking into the company's revenues and recent management statement and it seems a decent business. Is anyone on here to shine some light on this company and why it's attracting no discussion here?
Finally
It will be interesting to see where the SP stabilizes near term, given the muted FY2018 outlook provided I would not be surprised to see SP hovering around current levels perhaps up to say 15.5, which would imply c. 17X FY2018 P/E and arguably is a high multiple for a year with no growth based on reported earnings. M&A announcement could act as a catalyst. I have trimmed my position as I expected a stronger outlook and it seems margin expansion opportunities are exhausted.
Nicely, keen to see it break through to 15s.
Should read down .8%, sentiment is strong for glanbia.
Shares bought today against 25.000 sold, price somehow down 8%.
I certainly hope so given my large position, but what makes you so confident if I may ask :) ? I have to say I found the results announcement slightly disappointing, I had hoped for a bit more. I was not aware the EUR/$ had such huge impact, worst case scenario FY 2018 reported numbers will show flat revenues and net income due to FX impact. Also, they should have launched share buyback imho instead of raising dividends.
for this not to hit 16+ soon
For this not to readjust to 15+, double digits growth the trend to be looked at not the recent bump in the road
The tide has turned, looking much healthier
agree. I had a look at updated analyst consensus on the glanbia homepage and I understand the SP drift since a lot of people trade on consensus estimates I believe. However, the estimates appear very conservative in my mind, basically no profit growth in FY2018. I know they have a +25% cheese expansion going on-line FY2018 in US + this is a very good management team so I dont buy into no-growth scenario in FY2018 even considering FX drag. Lets see what 21 feb announcement entails, but I hope & expect a SP bump. Fair pricein my mind if at least 18. Business would have been acquired were it not for the glanbia co-op holding.....
€15 even, report on 21st should see us back in €16 territory
Looking better
Thats a valid point and I agree. But I dont think the FX movements can justify the fall to current levels, I could be wrong of course :). Anyway I am waiting for 21 Feb results announcement. Also exciting to hear outcome of the "operational review" announced on the latest earnings call. That in combination with current low leverage should leave room for pleasant surprises, either extra dividend or share buyback, unless they find acquisitions of course.
The dollar to euro value has been speculated as a factor, hitting profits.
I am a long term holder of Glanbia and struggle to make sense of recent share price fall, down to 14 from say range of 16-18. I understand some concerns around falling milk price, but that should have positive impact on GPN margins as was the case in 2016. Also some concerns around pricing pressure but again that cannot justify recent SP decline in my view. Current valuation seems very low Glanbia should be valued as a consumer staple. I am loading up shares at these levels. Interested in views from other people
A 191k 131k 2×90k buys on 14euro,the pumps seem to have been turned on in this sinking ship
Like a ship passing by in the night is posting here
expected on 24 Feb. Maybe then someone will post here?
