Treasury Shares
The Company announces that on 6 October 2008 it transferred to a participant in its 2005 Sharesave scheme 4,229 ordinary shares at £2.24. These shares were previously held as treasury shares.
Following the above transaction, the Company holds 2,034,739 ordinary shares in Treasury, and has 647,612,453 ordinary shares in issue (excluding Treasury shares).
