HALFORDS GROUP PLC: PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Halfords Group PLC announces that on 24 April 2012 it purchased, through Investec Bank PLC, 50,000 of its ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 270.9119 pence per share. The highest price paid was 271.95 pence per share and lowest price paid was 269.80 pence per share.

Following the above purchase, the Company has now bought back 12,784,493 shares for cancellation and 5,449,620 for transfer into treasury, since 7 April 2011 when the buy back programme commenced.
