M&G High Income Investment Trust P.L.C.

M&G High Income Investment Trust P.L.C. (M&G HIT) announces that on 19 March 2009 it purchased and cancelled 350,000 M&G HIT Package Units at a price of 86p per Package Unit. This represents 0.26% of M&G HIT's issued share capital.

To date, a total of 2,125,000 Package Units have been purchased and cancelled by M&G HIT resulting in a current issued share capital of 135,302,539 Zero Dividend Preference Shares, 135,302,539 Income Shares, and 135,302,539 Capital Shares.
