Mwana Africa PLC announces that on 31 January 2007 it purchased from JPMorganCazenove Limited 10,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 39.5 pence pershare. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the abovepurchase, Mwana Africa PLC holds 260,000 ordinary shares in treasury, and has248,910,654 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares ).
