Abbey PLC20 December 2007 Abbey Plc (the 'Company') Share Buy Back Abbey Plc announces that on 20 December 2007, it purchased 100,000 ordinaryshares of €0.32 each in the issued share capital of the Company ('OrdinaryShares') at €6.00 per share for cancellation. Following the above the total number of Ordinary Shares in issue is 28,634,523. This purchase was made pursuant to the authority granted by shareholders at anExtraordinary General Meeting of the Company held on 19 November 2007.
