Trading Statement

Electrocomponents plc, the world's leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products, has today issued a trading update for the six months ending 30 September 2013 ("H1") ahead of publishing half-year results on 14 November 2013

Group underlying sales growth (1) in H1 was around 1%, with stronger sales growth in September of around 4%. In H1 International grew by 3% and the UK declined by 3%. Within International both Continental Europe and North America grew by 3% and Asia Pacific was flat.

eCommerce sales growth in H1 was around 6% and eCommerce sales comprised around 57% of Group sales.

There have been no significant changes to the Group's strong financial position during the period.

Ian Mason, Group Chief Executive, commented:

"In the first half Group underlying sales growth has remained similar to the second half of last year, at around 1%. We are investing in our strategic priorities to enable us to grow market share and improve our financial performance over the medium term."
