Yell Group plc07 September 2006 7 September, 2006 Response to Competition Commission Statement of Provisional Remedies Following the publication this morning by the Competition Commission of itsproposed remedies for Classified Directory Advertising Services, John Condron,CEO of Yell Group said: "We will study the report in detail. We have said many times we do not thinkthe rapidly evolving and highly competitive classified directories marketrequires regulation and we will continue to press this point. We obviouslywelcome the proposed reduction in the level of advertising price regulationenvisaged in the Commission's provisional remedies. We would neverthelessbelieve that market forces, rather than regulation, should always be thepreferred route."
