Northern Petroleum Plc ("Northern" or "the Company") Notification of Shareholding / Shares in Issue

The Board of Northern Petroleum Plc received notification on 01 December from Deutsche Bank AG London that Deutsche Bank AG and its subsidiary companies have a notifiable interest in 2,569,654 ordinary shares of the Company. Part of this holding may relate to hedging arrangements for customer transactions. This holding represents approximately 3.66% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital, which currently totals 70,219,851 ordinary shares.
