Notification of interest in the issued share capital of Island Oil and Gas Plc.

Island Oil & Gas plc ('Island' or the 'Company') (LSE:IOG) has today received notification dated 20th October 2009 from Davy of a decrease in its notifiable interest in its holding in the Company. The notification states that, as at 20th October 2009, Davycrest Nominees Limited (as registered owner only on behalf of a range of clients who are each the owner of a portion of the shareholding) holds 3,947,648 shares and Davy Nominees holds 68,415 shares of €0.01 each in Island. This holding represents 2.95% of the 135,926,678 shares in issue.
