Wednesday, September 27th 2006: Shares in Petroneft Resources plc, aninternational oil and gas exploration and production company that wasestablished for the purpose of acquiring and developing hydrocarbon acreage inSiberian Russia, began trading on the Irish Stock Exchange's IEX market today. Petroneft is the 14th new company to list on IEX since the market wasestablished by the Irish Stock Exchange in April 2005 and brings to 22 thenumber of companies listed on this specialist market for small and medium-sizedcompanies. Speaking at the commencement of trading in Petroneft shares, Irish StockExchange Director of Listing, Deirdre Somers said: "The decision by Petroneft,an Irish company with international operations, to list its shares on the IEXmarket as part of its Initial Public Offering is another vote of confidence inthis specialist market. IEX provides access to capital for small andmedium-sized companies in Ireland, as evidenced by Petroneft's fundraising inIreland."
