TR 1 Notification of Major Interest in Shares

The Company received notice on 5 May 2009 from BlackRock, Inc. in fulfilment of the obligations imposed by the Financial Services Authority in accordance with Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5. An acquisition of shares on 1 May 2009 gives a total interest of 7,220,131 ordinary shares representing 5.48% of the issued share capital of the Company. The controlled undertaking through which the voting rights are effectively held is BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited.

Voting rights attached to shares:

As at 7 May 2009, the Company has 131,840,933 ordinary shares, which is equal to the same number of voting rights.
