Asia Energy PLC12 May 2006 Asia Energy PLC ("the Company") Notification of Interest in Substantial Holding Under sections 198 to 202 of the Companies Act 1985("The Act") and rule 15 ofthe AIM Rules the following information falls to be disclosed: The Company was notified on 12 May 2006 that HSBC Bank plc and its direct andindirect subsidiaries held an interest in 1,527,696 Ordinary Shares of 10p eachin the Company. This represents 3.13% of the issued share capital of theCompany. HSBC Bank plc is interested in 65,000 of these shares under Section 208(5) ofthe Act.
