City of London (LSE: CLIG), a leading specialist asset management group offering a range of institutional and retail products investing primarily in closed-end funds, announces that the Company's Employee Benefit Trust purchased 78,996 ordinary shares of 1p each on 29 October 2021 at a price of £5.15 per share. 

Following these purchases, the Trust holds 1,339,428 ordinary shares in the Company representing 2.6% of the Company's issued capital, of which 688,113 (1.4% of the Company's issued capital) is held in custody for employees under the terms of the Employee Incentive Plan (EIP).
