FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 16 AUGUST 2018

CHEMRING GROUP PLC

HMDS CONTRACT AWARD

Chemring Group PLC ("Chemring" or "the Group") is pleased to announce that its US based subsidiary Chemring Sensors and Electronic Systems ("CSES") has been awarded a $93m Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity ("IDIQ") contract to refurbish and refresh the US DOD's fleet of Husky Mounted Detection Systems ("HMDS"). The enhanced fleet will include the addition of an array of new technologies that have been designed and developed by Chemring to be effective against the most challenging targets.

Work under this contract will be carried out at CSES's facility in Dulles, Virginia.

Michael Ord, Group Chief Executive of Chemring, commented:

"This award represents a significant development for Chemring and is the culmination of a number of years of research and development activity. It demonstrates the progress that the Group is making on its roadmap and the move to focus on our higher margin, niche market positions where the Group is best placed to generate future value."
