Gooch & Housego PLC04 October 2006 For Immediate Release 4 October 2006 Gooch & Housego PLC (The "Company") Full - Year Trading Update Gooch and Housego PLC, the specialist manufacturer of acousto-optic andelectro-optic devices, precision optical components, crystals, instruments formeasuring optical radiation and hyperspectral imaging systems, today announces atrading up-date for the year to 30 September 2006. Trading for the full year is slightly ahead of market expectations followinggood performances by the Group companies in improving market conditions. In parallel, good progress has been made with several key initiatives which havebeen put in place to provide the foundation for sustained growth in the mediumto long term. These include a significant reorganisation of the Group'sinfrastructure, the construction of the new factory in the UK, the appointmentof Dr Julian Blogh as our new Chairman and the continuing development of newproducts and markets.
