Meridian Petroleum PLC24 April 2006 Exercise of Warrants Meridian Petroleum Plc (the "Company") today announces that it has issued andallotted 1,140,000 ordinary shares of 5 pence each at a price of 30 pence pershare, pursuant to an exercise of warrants. The shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares of 5 penceeach in the Company and trading of these shares on AIM is expected to commenceon 28 April 2006.
