Education sector project win: Royal Northern College of Music

Styles&Wood Group plc, the integrated property services and project delivery specialist, has been appointed to carry out a £4.1 million refurbishment at the Royal Northern College of Music ("RNCM") in Manchester. The 34-week scheme will see Styles&Wood Projects business unit redevelop RNCM's prestigious concert hall, increasing its capacity and introducing new advanced technical facilities.

The contract demonstrates the success of Styles&Wood's strategic focus to further its reach into specialist markets, including the education sector, with revenue generated from the education sector increasing from £1.5 million to £10 million in the 18 months to February 2014.

Over this period, the Group has provided integrated property solutions across a range of primary, secondary and free-school refurbishment projects, in addition to schemes in the further and higher education sectors including student accommodation. Recent projects in the sector have included: the complete remodelling of the Witherslack Group's Avon Park School in Warwickshire and a Solar PV installation at the March Church of England Primary School in Chichester.

Tony Lenehan, CEO of Styles&Wood, commented:

"The Royal Northern College of Music project is a prestigious scheme and acts as another showcase for our specialist teams' ability to create inspirational education spaces for a broad range of institutions.

"Education remains a key strategic sector for the business and the progress we have made over the past 18 months is further evidence of the success of our diversification strategy. We are confident that the Group is well positioned to continue to achieve sustained growth in the education sector."
