Proteome Sciences Plc ("Proteome Sciences" or "the Company")

Extension of Option Exercise Period

The Remuneration Committee and the Board of Proteome Sciences have today resolved to extend the exercise period for an option over 433,124 Ordinary Shares of 1p each in the Company which was granted to Christopher Pearce, Chief Executive Officer, in March 2000 and which is due to expire on 20 April 2007. The option cannot at present be exercised as the Company is currently in a close period.

The Board has therefore extended the exercise period for these options for a period of one month from the end of the close period. The terms of the option remain otherwise unchanged.
