Director's Dealing

The Company announces that on 1st July 2008 YKM Holdings International Limited, a company in which Mr Yogendra Kr. Modi, Chairman and Managing Director of Great Eastern, is interested, purchased 55,000 GDRs, each representing 5 Ordinary Shares in Great Eastern at 265 pence per GDR. Following this purchase, Mr Yogendra Kr. Modi has a beneficial interest in 350,515,159 ordinary shares in Great Eastern, representing approximately 64.36% of the issued share capital.
