Hargreaves Lansdown plc (the "Company") received notification today from Lee Gardhouse, a PDMR, that on 5th March 2012, he bought a total of 1,347 ordinary shares of 0.4 pence in the Company ("ordinary shares") at a price of 441.828p per share. The purchases were on behalf of connected persons as follows:

Miss ER Gardhouse 449 shares

Miss CM Gardhouse 449 shares

Miss EF Gardhouse 449 shares

The total number of ordinary shares purchased represents 0.00028% of the ordinary shares in issue.

Following this transaction, the beneficial shareholding of Lee Gardhouse (including his connected persons) is 918,539 ordinary shares representing 0.19% of the ordinary shares in issue.

Hargreaves Lansdown (Nominees) Limited is the registered shareholder as nominee for the above PDMR. The transaction took place in Bristol on 5th March 2012.
