DIRECTORS'/PDMR INTERESTS IN SHARES

1. On 9 April 2009 a Harris family member purchased 100,000 Carpetright shares, at a price of 530.5p, from a company within the Harris Ventures Group.

2. The beneficial shareholding for Lord Harris is now 12,649,299 shares (18.82%). Overall, the Harris family interests remain unchanged.

3. The Company has also received notice from Lord Harris and from Mr M Harris that, as at 9 April 2009, the number of shares over which security has been granted by the Harris Ventures Group (as announced on 23 January 2009) has further reduced to 10,749,970.
