Genus PLC18 October 2007 For Immediate Release 18 October 2007 Genus plc ("the Company") Director Shareholding On 18 October 2007, Richard Wood exercised options over 57,884 Ordinary Sharespursuant to the Company's 2000 Share Option Scheme at an exercise price of 192.5pence. On the same date, he exercised nil cost options over 100,762 OrdinaryShares pursuant to the Company's 2004 Performance Share Plan. Both of the aboveamounts, together with 59,400 shares owned by Richard Wood were sold on 18October 2007 at a price of 700 pence per share. The latter shares were soldfollowing the recent changes to business asset taper relief. Following these transactions highlighted above, Richard Wood remains the beneficial owner of 410,285 conditional shares awarded to him under the Company's 2004 Performance Share Plan.
