Oxus Gold Plc ("Oxus"or the "company") (OXS.L) announces that on 15 July 2008, it was notified that Mr. Richard Shead, a non executive Director of the Company, purchased 100,000 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at purchase price of 17.25p per share. 

Following the above transaction, Mr. Shead holds 100,000 Ordinary Shares, which represents 0.03% per cent. of the total issued share capital of the Company, being 381,439,685 Ordinary Shares.
