DIRECTORS'/PDMR INTERESTS IN SHARES

1. On 30 March 2009 Mr M Harris and another Harris family member purchased jointly 25,000 Carpetright shares, at a price of £3.98, from a company within the Harris Ventures Group.

2. The beneficial shareholdings for Lord Harris and Mr M Harris are now 12,749,299 shares (18.97%) and 3,939,786 shares (5.86%), respectively. Overall, the Harris family interests remain unchanged.

3. The Company has also received notice from Lord Harris and from Mr M Harris that, as at 30 March 2009, the number of shares over which security has been granted by the Harris Ventures Group (as announced on 23 January 2009) has further reduced to 10,849,970.
