The Directors are pleased to announce that Mark Hews has been appointed to succeed Michael Tripp as Group Chief Executive from 1st May 2013. Mark Hews is currently an Executive Director of the Company holding the position of Group Chief Financial Officer. He has had more than 20 years' experience in the insurance industry, previously being CEO of M&S Life and on the Board of HSBC Life. Before that he was Finance Director at Aviva Healthcare and an insurance consultant at Deloitte (formerly Bacon and Woodrow).

Michael Tripp has spent over six years with the Company, having been its Group Chief Executive since February 2007. The Board thanks Michael for his commitment and contribution to the Company and wish him a very happy retirement. Michael will remain on the Board until 21st May 2013 to allow a smooth transition.
